I'm surprised there's not more buzz about this. Considering the creator of the show, and how much I have enjoyed Forbidden Broadway in the past, I think I'll buy tickets and go in cold, like in the old days! LOL

Also, keep checking Show-score.com. I looked this morning, and no reviews. But there's bound to be something.

yea I've been searching for reviews online and I haven't been able to find anything. I figured at least one person from this forum would have seen the show, but maybe not. But thanks I'll keep checking!! And let me know how it goes if you end up getting tickets.  I'm kinda secretly hoping they give out comp tickets at some point if the show doesn't do so hot.

That might explain the lack of reviews!

For some reason I thought performances began last week.

Does anyone plan on trying the 10 cent lotto? Funny idea!

Yea from the last article I read, they were supposed to start last week but i guess they pushed it back.  I'm totally doing the 10 cent lottery!

Is it true this will only run 18 performances? I am in SF and don't get back to NYC until Jan 2017.

I have seen Hamilton and would die to see this. Is it possible this will transfer to another space (to further mock - or homage - Hamilton's path from The Public to Broadway - LOL)?

I have seen many variations on FB, this guy is a genius.

I love the 0.10 tickets, they should do premium for $84.90 - or better yet, $8.49.

I hope it does well and extends. The current weekdays-only schedule doesn't work for me, and I would love to see this.

Saw it this evening on its first performance and laughed almost every second! It was hilarious! Great job by the cast and to Gerard himself! Wow! Hope you guys get to see it. Hopefully the Hamilton folks will get to see it too.

A few spoilers below:

It's only 70 minutes long. It did use several Hamilton songs but also added songs from various musicals: Ragtime, Book of Mormon, West Side Story, Sweeney Todd, Assassins, Funny Girl, etc. Clever use of characters like American Psycho in Paris, Avenue Crucible, and yes, Roosevelt is incorporated in there too. So much more. It even has a little bit on Pokemon Go!

If you've already seen Hamilton, I suggest buying a ticket for Spamilton. It was worth every penny.

There were only 6 people who entered the lottery and it looked like 5 of them got in.  I just noticed as I was walking in, as I had tickets already but will definitely try the lotto later in the run.  It was so hilarious.  A lot of Sondheim spoofs and my favorite numbers were "I am not throwing away my...pot" and "I wanna be in the Film when it Happens."  I also loved what they did with The Schuyler Sisters number.  The girls voice alone is worth the price of admission.

haha, "I want to be in the film when it happens" sounds pretty funny.

I agree about Nora Schell's voice! I recently started following them on instagram spamiltonnyc and here's a 5-second clip of Nora during rehearsal singing one of the Schuyler sister songs:

Thanks for the details, Wick3! I was actually hoping for an all-Hamilton Spamilton. But I'll take what I can get. Maybe more Hamilton numbers will be added in time. Fingers crossed that this extends!

I saw the show last night too. Laughed my ass off. I love Hamilton and have seen it, and this show is a perfect send-up of the show, its cast, its creator, and its popularity. Yeah, there is a bit of non-Hamilton entertainment, but it is really connected to the plot....you'll have to see to understand. No spoilers from me. The voices are amazing, their insights are spot on. GO. You won't be disappointed. My 16 year old enjoyed it too.

Does anyone know if the lottery is before every show - one article I found says before select performances.

It was absolutely terrible. They have some nerve charging some people $49 + 2 drinks for this. Workshop or not, it was sloppily put together. They went for cheap laughs and those didn't even land. I could see the people groaning around me. Somehow this hour-long show seemed to last longer than the actual Hamilton. Best moments were the opening and the last two songs. It seems they worked hard on these numbers and the rest of the show was amateurish filler.

Skip it.

For those of you who have seen it, what's the opinion on seeing this if one hasn't seen Hamilton nor listened to its OBC? Should it be avoided due to potential spoilers? And how much theatre initiation/knowledge do you need to enjoy the non-Hamilton jokes and references?

I think you'll miss a lot of the jokes. The names of the characters are the OBC so a person may not get the references to that nor appreciate the spoofs of the songs from Hamilton.

As for the non-Hamilton songs, I felt those were just snippets (15-20 seconds) and if you're a theatre nerd, you'll immediately know the song from hearing the tune. Personally for $49, I'd at least listen to the OBC recording to be familiar with the songs.

"The names of the characters are the OBC" ! I mean, I know most of the principal OBC, like Lin, Daveed, Chris, "Oak", Phillippa, Renee, Leslie, Anthony, etc. I've seen whatever performances were telecast (like Tonys, Grammys, White House) and endless "Alexander Hamilton" parodies. I was also at Elsie Fest where Leslie did "Room Where It Happens" and MisCast where Ana and three boys did "Schyuler Sisters". As a result I probably know a lot more of the songs than I wanted to!

Will skip it though because I don't want listening to the OBC to be a prerequisite, something I'm purposefully avoiding until after I see the show.

There are no pre-requisites to see the show. However, I think to understand any sort of satire or spoof of something, it's important to know the actual original story they're spoofing (is that a word?) from. Spamilton If I had a choice, I'd watch Hamilton first and then watch this spoof but that's my opinion.
