She's incredibly talented (I saw her open for Britney Spears back in 2009) and she sounds great from the audio floating around out there. I would love to see her on Broadway but this whole exchange probably got blown out of proportion for the press.

I am amazed at the lack of respect in the commentary on this thread for both ALW and Nicole. It would have been so lovely to have things go smoothy with this part of the announcements for CATS. Grizabella sings the most exciting ballad in the show. Even the doubters wait to hear how it will be performed and who will be announced to sing it. Unfortunately, it sounds like a frustrating development in the casting. However, I bet this show is going to be really fun. I cannot wait to see it live, I cannot wait to hear who is coming to sing for us, night after night, ALW's thrilling tour-de-force, the redemptive, uplifting, "Memory".

Why can we say this about ALW, But not Patty Murin?
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

CATSNYRevival - I believe I read in one interview or story on the Cats revival that the rapping RumTum has been dropped for the original RumTum... The major change will be the choreographer from Hamilton adding some new dances to it - and possibly a new aria in the 2nd Act that ALW had written at Cameron MacIntosh's suggestion that was "forgotten" when they did the London revival (but that he added I think in Paris?)
As for Scherzinger - hearing her rendition of Memory that she recorded definitely had me interested to see this show - a musical I never cared for to be honest...

Possible replacement for Nicole, didn't think Leona would be a big enough draw though, she only just about sold out a smallish theatre in Liverpool recently and that's over here in the UK.

I think it may be more of "let's get a 'name' in just encase it doesn't sell as well as we think it will" but yeah the name Cats itself should do rather well!
