I was planning on watching the Tonys at 54 Below but this year the cheapest tickets are $250 as its for BC/EFA.

Just wondered what peoples experiences were watching them in Times Square. I'm seeing the Shuffle Along matinee so wont be free until after 5PM. What time do people start arriving and sitting down? Is there always enough seating? And how is the audio? I obviously want to be able to hear everything.

Alternatively, if anyone has other options of things they've done for the past I'd be happy to hear them.

Watch it at home. If you can't make it home in time, then dvr it.

I don't live in New York (or America). My hotel only has a tiny TV. I will do if there are no other good options though.

The Beechman has a Tony viewing event. No cover, $35 food/drink min. I've never done it, so I can't vouch for anything about it, but in case you'd want to do that, fyi.

I watched the Tonys at the Beechman in 2011, so I can't vouch for recent years, but it was a great experience!

oops...ya'll beat me to the Beechman Tonys.     I've heard fun things, too.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I watched the Tony's in Times Square last year. Got there late. A friend saved me a seat but I saw a few others open. Had a great time and they had entertainment. Adam Pascal and Deborah Cox hosted and sang twice after I got there. Plan to do it again this year.

I've watched the Tonys in Times Square for the last several years, and it's a pretty fun time. As someone mentioned, they have hosts for it and those hosts perform and it's fun. In 2014, a friend of mine won a contest so we got to be in the front row of the Times Square viewing party and it was Kerry Butler and Justin Guarini hosting, and they were great. Both performed and were just all around fun.

I have watched the Tonys in Times Sqaure before, I saw a matinee then went and grabbed some food and then got a seat. There were plenty of seats and I had a decent view. I was by myself and it was nice to share the experience with other Broadway fans. Would definitely recommend it

Am debating whether to come into Nyc to see a show that day at repertorio español so thanks for posting! Assuming I can get seat after matinee, would be cool to meet up with any others that plan to be in Times Square for the tony party!

When can we expect to hear details on this year's simulcast? I'm planning on attending this year.

I just learned via Facebook that there will be no Times Square Simulcast this year. For those of you who were planning on going there this year (like me) will have to find some other viewing party in the city.

Oh no! I guess I should have known better than to plan a trip around it but thanks for posting so that I can find alternate plans. Suggestions?

Oh no! I was really looking forward to this, it was a good time last year. The Tonys seem not to be doing as much promotion this year as they have the past few years, the pop-up shop was also gotten rid of this year. Has anyone heard if they're doing a ticket lottery for this year?

Does anyone know of any viewing parties in NJ?
