Waitress Stage Door

I'm seeing the Saturday matinee of Waitress next weekend, and I was wondering if Sara Bareilles has been signing/taking pictures at the stage door? I know that since I'm seeing a matinee performances that my chances aren't particularly good. Has anyone been to a matinee performance of Waitress where the cast came out and signed playbills after?

Why would Sara come out the stage door at all? She had been in the house off and on during previews but it's not like she's actually in the show.

Writers often sign at the stage door when they are there.

It happens occasionally, particularly during previews, but it's nothing you can ever EXPECT to happen. If it happens, then you're lucky. You're better off keeping an eye out for her in the theatre during intermission or before the show.

Was at the stage door last Saturday post-matinee.  No Jessie, no Sara, no Chris.  Most of the rest of the cast came out, signed and took photos.

I know you're asking about Sara, but just to let everyone know that Jessie has been coming out after night shows and probably Sunday matinees according to instagram.

Glad to hear that Jessie has come out some evenings and Sundays. I went to the show twice in Cambridge and was disappointed that Jessie and Sara did not come out either time. It seemed that everyone else in the cast came out.

I swear I thought I saw Edward Albee outside of the Booth Theatre at the most recent revival of WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF. Alas, it was not him. Just a lookalike.

I met Steven Soderbergh after seeing The Library at the Public...it happens! I was just curious if Sara has come out the stage door at all, or if she quickly slips out after all the performances she attends.

I think Sara is at basically every performance and I believe she ducks out quietly every time.

Anyone know if Jessie has been coming out lately?

I went the day of the Tony nominations and Jessie did not come out, but I honestly didn't expect her to. The Tony season is a lot to handle (especially on top of an emotional performance like the one she's giving) when you're nominated, so I don't fault her for wanting to take care of herself. I've also heard she's battling being sick lately, as well.

I went a few weeks ago and most of the cast came out and signed. Then there was a long wait, though the security guy did not tell us to leave so it's possible there were more people inside planning on signing. We decided not to wait for the possibility of Jessie because it was getting late and my shoes were uncomfortable. So, if she did come out, it was a long while after the majority of the cast came out.

When I saw it at the beginning of April everyone came out besides Keala. I don't think it took any longer than the "average/normal" wait time.

Interestingly enough, Jason Mraz was there and didn't go backstage afterwards.

I was at show last thursday (6/30) and some did come out but not  Jessie, Kimoka (sp?) and Keala. Friends were there in July and Jessie did not come out at either performance.

I went to a matinee a couple weeks ago, and he even came out between shows. Although he did not pose for photos like he seems to do after evening shows (based on what I've seen on Instagram). John Cullum did not come out, and the stage door attendant told me he never does. Not surprising given his age, and the weather.

If you do get the chance to meet Mr. Cullum, he is a sweet and lovely man. I remember meeting him a few years ago after CASA VALENTINA

I hope I do get to, but I'm not optimistic. He's almost 88, after all, and even if he stays with us for another 10 years or more, who know how much of that time he will spend working, let alone greeting fans after the show. Still, this was the first time I've seen him live, and I'm grateful just for that. And I loved him as Joe. Not as eccentric as Dakin Matthews' portrayal, but just as, if not more heartfelt and sagely.

To anyone who has seen the show with Sara and Jason, do they both come out to the stage door? My friend and I have tickets for Jason's last show.
