Only 3 days until the first performance of Waitress!  I'm really anxious for this.  It's going to be the last show on my Spring theater trip on Wednesday, April 6.

I absolutely love the movie, and I am anxious for the stage musical.  I have never seen Jessie Mueller perform live, though I did get to see her sister perform in Beautiful in Chicago back in December.  She was wonderful, and I'm sure Jessie will be just as talented and wonderful to see live on the stage.

Really hoping for some good reports on this one.  So, who's going to the first performance on Friday?

I won't be there on Friday (I will be in the city Friday but chaperoning a school trip to Something Rotten) but I am seeing the show April 20. I saw it twice in Boston and it was in great shape last summer, so I am looking forward to see how the team has made it better and a little smoother as well.

Jessie is wonderful....I'm not sure the show would work nearly as well without her.  SHE is the reason to see it.  Don't get me wrong, I LIKED the show in Cambridge very much....I just didn't love it as many others did. Excited to see what changes they bring to NY.

Who knows....maybe it will make me fall in love with it.....I definitely changed my opinion of Neverland.  (although that change was from loving it, to being disappointed.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

^ couldn't agree more. I'm hoping the score has alittle more variety and they have fixed some of the book problems. I have faith in this creative team

Going this Friday and on 12th of April! I missed Jessie as Carole in Beautiful, so I'm not gonna miss her again!

I agree with you on Neverland. Loved it in Boston and found it beyond charming, but it lost something in New York and just felt different with Matthew Morrison, and not a good different.

Ever since Jessie left Beautiful to work on Waitress, I have been waiting for it. I haven't seen it yet, but I loved the clips I have seen so far.

Part of me hopes this show is a dark horse in knocking Hamilton off its perch. I think it would be great for this to steal a few awards at the Tonys that Hamilton has been penciled in for since last August.

Not to be confused with Dave19.

love the music, hate the book.  dave13 - your hopes will not pan out to reality, unfortunately, because the storyline and book are super super weak.  score is beautiful and cast is killer, though.

I'm going to be at the first preview on Friday! I really enjoyed this at A.R.T. but I look forward to seeing the fixes they have made. Jessie Mueller alone will be worth the price of admission. This score really shows off her talent for acting through song.

It's also wonderful to see this woman-centric story to be making history with its all female creative team. They've also done a nice job with diversity in the cast

Let's hope it has improved since moving to Broadway

Already setting yourself up for shows that got robbed at the Tonys, eh? Isn't it easier to just like something more and leave it at that?

Robbed and deserving are too different things.  I guess I used the word steal, but it would be nice to see a show provide competition to Hamilton at the Tonys.

I've said this in a number of other places, but I do believe we will see Tony voters share the wealth a bit. HAMILTON's artistic achievement is singular and it will absolutely take the top Musical award, but aside from this being a particularly strong season with many other shows worthy of being recognized; most of the voters are also theatre professionals -- many involved in the other productions that will be up for awards. A Tony win (even if its only one) could make a big difference to shows like FIDDLER, THE COLOR PURPLE, AMERICAN PSYCHO, SHUFFLE ALONG etc.

And I do think there is the possibility that there may be a little bit of a feeling of fatigue over HAMILTON's juggernaut status.  I think one of the reasons THE PRODUCERS swept in it's year, was that it opened right before the Tony cut-off. It's hype peaked at the perfect time. But we've had a year of Hamilton-hysteria now; I think voters may be moved to vote with temperance.

I imagine we might see this year play out like the year RENT was nominated.  It took home a healthy slate of Tonys but it didn't sweep as many predicted.  BRING IN DA NOISE, and THE KING AND I, in particular also did very well that year.

That's about as likely as people who don't like Hamilton to stop bringing it up in every thread because they're sick of hearing about it. Waitress Previews

Saw this in Boston over the summer and absolutely loved it. I'm seeing it April 1st and can't wait to see what changes were made!

I wonder what song they have cut. I've fallen so hard for the album and have gotten so used to the entire thing as a piece in its entirety it's hard to believe one of them missing!

Perhaps the cut number was one of the several NOT on the album, which I think were received with a little more apprehension.

Hey all. Have a quick seating question and not much time to make it. Seat A9 is available on the ONE date available to catch this show and otherwise only rear-mezzanine. With the discount code the seat (priced at $99) in the second row off to the side is in my budget, and the seats directly in front of it at full price are $159 so I figure the view can't be that bad from the side. I know no one has seen the show at the Brooks, but can anyone speak of how the set is designed and if the view will be okay off to the side? Specifically off to the right side of the house? Any help is appreciated, as always!

Snapchat is waitressmusical

Sara Bareilles posted some before curtain too. Hers is her full name, no space.

The show account has been great! They had fun backstage stuff and have been giving snippets of basically all the songs - really fun to see in advance of tomorrow's first preview.
