Waitress Rush Tickets |
Rush is usually not announced till the day before/day off first preview, so there's no way of knowing yet.
It doesn't even start performances for another three weeks. Most shows don't set a rush policy until a day or two before previews, sometimes even the morning of the first preview.

For what it's worth, they have the front row blocked out for all performances.

Just noticed a bunch of dates that have made the entire first and second row available to purchase on Ticketmaster. The very first row (AAA) at standard pricing and the second row (AA) at premium pricing.

DRATS...was hoping these would be the rush seats. Still hoping they'll announce it prior to Friday...
I went to the box office this morning and asked "Do you know if you'll have a rush or lottery policy?" and the person in the box office said there wouldn't be any. His answer was not that he didn't know, but rather he knew they wouldn't have one. Hope this changes or he was misinformed, but just letting you all know what I heard from the box office.

With how well they're selling, I imagine they'll at least have standing room eventually.

Jeez, even Scott Rudin's shows have rush policies.
Just used my brothers NYU discount for the performance on April 27. $51 side rear mezz... Not a steal, but better than full price!!!

There's a $49 discount code around for rear mezz, so that's about the same.

Very few shows in recent history have offered NOTHING, and I doubt the team behind this will let this slide. Their target audience here, despite already selling extremely well, are probably people (or students) who would take advantage greatly of some sort of policy.
That being said, the show IS selling well, so... who knows. I'm sure eventually a policy will be set in place. Box offices are keen to turning people away and telling them there will be nothing before something is in place or announced. Not the first time I've heard that.

I find it hard to believe they won't offer a rush. They aren't selling the last 2 seats on the far right / left of the orchestra in nearly every row so maybe they will do Partial view rush?
I'm guessing they won't offer a rush for previews and maybe a month or so of regular performances and then open a BroadwayDirect digital lotto, like On Your Feet did.
Also I'm not sure if the Brooks has standing room positions. Plenty of Spring Awakening performances were sold out towards the end of the run and standing room wasn't sold.

I saw On Your Feet through rush... a lot of times they will switch to lotto...
But if anyone finds info on this, I really want to see this! Give us the rush info!
They've been responding to people asking about rush or lotto with "Stay Tuned" on their twitter. So it sounds they are planning for some sort of rush policy.

They actually wrote it as, "S t a y t u n e d !," to which I ask, WHY? Why write it like that? Is their social media team trying to be hip and cool and fresh and millennial? Because not even millennials write like that. Blech.

You seem to be quite bothered by this, BroadwayConcierge. I hope you don't have an Instagram (or a Tumblr, or a Twitter, or...). LOL.

Actually the Brooks Atkinson does have standin room positions along the rail at the back of the orchestra section. I know because I actually did it for Spring Awakening :) I think they weren't expecting it and implemented standing room towards the last two weeks of their run.

That's interesting! Well then I guess it's worth asking the box office tomorrow for standing room, even if nothing is announced. I believe the first preview was sold out before they released the first few rows of the orchestra. Not sure if it's still sold out...
