The Official TDF Thread |
Saw OK! tonight and seats were great. Row C along the sides, essentially second row if you don't count the tables.
And great to see the show still in great shape.

Thanks! Grabbed next Saturday.
Saw Evita through TDF last night, seats were Grand Tier row B, dead center. Perfect.
Was put in the second balcony house right for Fefu and Her Friends on Sunday afternoon. Could see fine leaning forward and then you move anyway for the second act. Was in the red group.

It’s okay, very forgettable. But for TDF prices I do think it’s worth seeing. Just adjust your expectations accordingly.

Girl, same
i couldnt keep my eyes open on Friday night (my last attempt at enjoying Pinter), but the TDF seats for Betrayal were pretty damn good for a sold out show: Row J Left Orch, a few seats off the aisle.

Are weekend Sat/Sun shows common? I typically do Sat/Sun weekend trips and rush for tickets but am trying to buy more in advance if it's an affordable option."
It depends, but typically only the Bway shows that are doing very poorly have weekend availability on TDF (and usually only get listed within the week before).
Right now there are only 4 Broadway shows listed for this coming weekend (Illusionists, Lightning Thief, Slave Play, Freestyle Love Supreme), with a larger selection of Off-Bway titles. March or October could have more options.
TDF used to have a cheap $12-per-year out-of-town option, but they did away with it.
George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker at David H. Koch Theater is up for the first time ever, I think. Dates are 2pm, December 11 and 18.

This is probably not the best time of the year to be checking that since there are a lot of tourists in for the holidays. But I agree that there are less shows available on the weekends than weekdays. On the other hand, I saw Evita on the Sunday matinee a couple of weeks ago.
Show was sold out when I picked up the tickets.

Right -- I was referring to capital-B Broadway shows, of which there are 13 currently listed but only 4 for Sat & Sun. Time of year, popularity of the show, and lifecycle of the show are all factors.
