Okay I have two questions that I know a couple of you lovely people can answer for me . First : is Taye Diggs gonna be the closing Hedwig or are they gonna get someone else to do it ? I ask this because I really wanna see him in the role and if I go on the closing date I want to make sure that's who I'm gonna be seeing . Second question is does anyone know if the pricing is gonna be the same on the closing date as other dates ? I've never been to a show so I kind of want a heads up before i pick the date I go on .
There is no reason to think anyone else would take over that night. As for tickets, the show is almost completely sold out. The few tickets that remain are priced at $350.
no, I know absolutely nothing. Less than nothing! I'm just saying there sure are reasons why one could imagine someone other than Taye Diggs doing closing night.
Everything points to Taye closing, including the various social media accounts. I know Darren and Neil may not even be there because the Creative Arts Emmy's are the night before - Darren is nominated and Neil usually attends.
it would make sense for John to close it, but he's filming a movie so who knows. It could be Andrew or Michael as well.
Well, I have a ticket to closing. Just saw Taye again last night to catch Shannon's last Yitzhak (she was brilliant btw), so I wouldnt be mad about seeing someone else do closing! JCM should really do it.

How was Taye last night?
i have no interest in seeing it with him. I get kind of angry when I hear stories that he didn't know his lines. I know it's irrational, but I love that show so much and I find it disrespectful that he's not better prepared. I'm not the biggest NPH fan, but at the very least, he gave it his all.

Rent closed with the same cast that was performing it when the closing announcement was made, AFAIK.
As for Taye, at this point, the closing show is nearly sold out, so no reason to pay more to sit further back. Better to go before then and get a much better seat.
I personally don't see any reason why Taye Diggs wouldn't close the show. I get that he's not the best Hedwig, but his contract goes until either October or the show closes, and since the show is closing before his ending date the only logical explanation is that he will be the one playing the lead role at the show's closing performance. That's usually how it works at every other show on Broadway.
This isn't directed at the OP, since they were asking a genuine question, but I don't understand why people keep insisting that the producers will magically decide to put on a different actor just for the closing night performance. I'm sure it's a nice thought, but it's pretty much all wishful thinking at this point.
Of course, I could be completely wrong, and JCM could come back for that special night, but I don't believe it will happen.

I don't think anyone is suggesting otherwise? I think JCM is too classy to even consider coming in and being like, let me finish this properly. As much as people might want to see that, I think it's completely unreasonable.

I have you blocked but since Haterobics quoted you I had to see your blathering.
First of all, stop spreading rumors that you're a director. You don't know the first thing about theater. If you DID, you'd have known what was going on at the Jane.
Your post is so ridiculous I have to deduce you're a troll. A troll with serious issues.
Folks, "A Director" and "Hamilton", I believe, are trying to get me in some sort of trouble by their inflammatory posts. They're probably trying to get the attention of someone in the production by accusing me of spreading rumors, etc.
Therefore, my discussion on this topic will not continue. I will never mention anything specific that went on at the theater, and I never have, unlike HAMILTON, WHO HAS SAID SPECIFIC THINGS ABOUT MS. SHEEDY ON THE STAGE. SHAME ON YOU SPREADING RUMORS ABOUT HER.

You're right, and I'm sorry if I came across rude; that wasn't my intention. I was just expressing my view on the matter, because it seemed like people were speculating over whether Taye Diggs would be replaced on closing night, not necessarily on this thread, but on the other Hedwig one about the show's closing.

I think it all stems back to Neil who said he wanted to do the last show - and then the rest of us just go crazy over John like we always seem to do.

Pretty safe to assume Neil isn't putting the heels on two days before his new live TV show airs for the first time.

Taye Diggs is the final Hedwig. He will be performing the rest of the run which ends on Sept 13th. I got this info from someone who works on the show.
