It was astonishing. It built and built and showed no sign of stopping until O'Hara gave the tiniest of bows--more a nod of the head and a smile, really. Finally the audience was satisfied and the scene continued.

Applause is a wonderful thing in general, but when applause is heartfelt and spontaneously overwhelming, it really is a spiritual experience.

I was there as well.  I wouldn't have missed it for the world.  I knew it would be a special performance for sure.  The audience gave her such a warm and generous entrance.  You could clearly see how touched she was with all the love from the audience.
