Yazbek would be pretty much perfect for it, though now that I think of it, I would LOVE to see this handed off to reclusive pop genius Andy Sturmer.
Wasn't there talks of an Austin Powers musical at one point in time? I thought Casey Nicholaw was attached to direct it if I remember correctly.I take it no traction on this project?
Any Yazbek score is great, but yeah, I actually think this could make for a fun musical. Hopefully it would an original story using these characters?
The last news I could find was from December 2011... https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2011/dec/14/austin-powers-musical-on-stage I actually think that this could be a pretty good movie -> stage transfer. Yazbek would be my first choice too, but also the South Park guys could come up with some pretty fun stuff!
