Would I miss much of the show?

If you're not far from the theater, you can also pop in today and see if there are any tickets for tomorrow's show. That's what I did when I saw it on a whim in March. I had great seats in orch b for $229.

So, I passed by the theater today and they had a ticket for Wednesday matinee. I bought it!

Its H 15

Looking the a view from the seat I’m kinda confused if this may be partial view (the man said it is not), has anyone seated in this seat or close? Am I going to miss something?

I sat in Orch H 20 when I went, about 2 years ago. It was a row of added chairs behind the actual theater seats in the orchestra section. I dont remember missing anything or having difficulty seeing anything. if i did, it was nothing that i even remember at this point, so couldnt have been too bad! have fun!

@MadsonMelo How much did you purchase the ticket for? What time did you arrive to the box office?

229. It’s the standart price for orchestra, right?

I just went by Monday and grabbed for the Wed matinee.

I fully support that if u are going to stay more than few days, go check the box office once and while, especially on mondays.

Otherwise, 7:30 it’s a good time to arrive at the theater for cancellation line

Any updates on the line lately? I’m in town and wondering if it is worth trying the line tonight?

I just walked past about 45 minutes ago and there were 5 people in line.  Great night to go.

Hey! I'm gonna be in New York for a few days next week and I was wondering if anyone has any updates on SRO? Has anyone had any luck getting SRO lately and what would be a good time to get to the theater? I am a student so I'm not looking to buy a full priced ticket. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

If anyone still cares about updates, I got an SRO ticket for the Wednesday matinee yesterday, 2/6. I walked up at about 1:55 and there were a couple people in line. I got called up and purchased my SRO ticket at 1:57, plenty of time to go in and get settled before the show started at about 2:04. I was dead center and there were still empty SRO slots next to me. The SRO view is amazing and such a bargain for only $40! I could have moved to an empty seat but I liked being able to see over everyone's heads from the SRO spot. Thanks everyone for the great advice in this thread!

Question for those who have said they've turned up at the box office and got standard orchestra seats for the coming week for $229. How are those seats available?? Do they just NOT put all available seats on Ticketmaster so the dodgy reselling pricks can't get em? And are they usually just single seats? Going with a friend in late March.

Some are unclaimed lottery tickets and those that weren’t listed on ticketmaster. I got two tickets for a Tuesday in March last year, &229 with fees, second row right orchestra. I went the other night to inquire and they had seats for future dates, but I didn’t have time to get exact dates. I had been going throughout the summer to try for friends and they wouldn’t have anytbjng and tell em to try next month lol.

I went a few weeks ago and I was 12th online, I think 2 ppl came on behind me 10 mins or so before the show on a wed night. It will be warm today and tomorrow, so lines may be a little longer?

What time are you arriving for the cancellation line?   Friday night show, 3.15.19,  when should be the time to arrive?

Just wanted to thank those who gave advice on turning up at the box office at the start of a trip and asking if they had seats for any dates in the upcoming week or so. We went to the box office on 22/3 and asked if they had anything until the end of the month and she said she could do Wed 27/3 8pm. Seats were left orchestra row C next to the aisle. $235 each. We were so happy!!! Loved the show! A dream come true.

What was disappointing though was to see 3 empty seats in the third or fourth row of the centre orchestra that stayed empty, especially given we’d seen a bunch of people in the cancellation line at 7:50pm who probably didn’t get in.

Those were probably unsold stubhub/reseller seats. The box office wouldn’t be able to sell those. I’m glad you were able to get tickets by asking. You saved on those pesky fees from ticketmaster.

Ah yes, of course! I momentarily forgot all about them. Well I’m glad those dodgy pricks didn’t make any money.

I've been following this board for awhile and am planning on seeing Hamilton in NYC for the first time this summer. There's a lot of great info on this board, but it's in tidbits and some of the best posts are getting a little dated. Could people who have a lot of experience with the cancellation line provide a comprehensive update for us "newbies" regarding the cancellation line? Specifically, I'm interested in projections for this summer. I know I should stop in at the box office to inquire about tickets for the week/month, but, if utilizing the cancellation line, what time should I arrive to guarantee tickets for 1) a matinee, 2) an evening performance during the week, 3) an evening performance on the weekend, and 4) SRO?

Also, are ALL the cancellation line tickets good (first few rows of the theater) as seems the case if reading the posts to this board. If some are not quite as good (back of orchestra) can you reject the tickets and hold out for better ones closer to performance time? I really want to see this show at least one time from a great seat.

Anyone have any experience with the NYC cancellation line on holiday weekends?  thinking about doing it this Friday 7/5/19 and i have a few concerns:

Do you think the line will be longer than usual given the holiday weekend?

Could there be fewer tickets available than usual due to more VIPs attending?

Would there be less of a chance seeing the lead actor as Hamilton and getting the understudy?

FWIW, on Saturday 11/3/18, I walked by and got in the cancellation line at 7:52PM for a 8PM curtain and scored two centered standing room tickets.  I walk by this theater alot in the morning and honestly can't make out any type of line even at 8AM.  Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but I shouldn't expect this to be a hard thing to wait in line for anymore.  On a holiday weekend, however, all bets are off.  Plus the after effects of pride weekend, maybe many have done extended vacations.
