Hamilton Cancellation Line |
Just wanted to provide useful info for all. Arrived Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 5:00AM at cancellation line – two line sitters were already there, having arrived at midnight. We needed 4 tickets. A single person (2 tickets) arrived at 7:00AM. Then various others arrived starting at around 9:00. Line peaked at around 20 people. Several people did not stick it out until the end.
The rules state that you cannot swap people out of the line, but the line sitters left around 11:30, when their clients arrived. This rule was not enforced. When the box office opened at 12:00, the first two people bought 4 tickets. Then, we waited until 2:00 for two tickets, then we got our other two tickets at 2:45. In the theatre, I noticed that many people from the line did get in. Our seats were Orch Row A, Center, which is the 2nd row. There were two empty seats in front of us the whole show, which leads me to believe that there were enough cancellation line tickets for all who were in line. Our other pair was in Orch Row J, as were many of the people behind us in the line.
Hope this info is helpful! (Show was AWESOME!)

I was also wondering when or if any new cast members are set to join? I enjoy seeing different people's take on the roles. Thanks in advance!
5PM may be a little too late. I got there one Friday at 2:00 and a couple people who came a while after me got in (don't remember what time) so there's a chance. If you're local and you feel like walking by to check out the line, you might as well. You never know.
BTW, officer Sullivan who is usually there outside keeping order told us Tuesdays and Thursdays have the shortest lines.

Hi all,
First time posting, long time lurker. Could anyone kindly provide any updates for July if available?
Heading to NYC this week.
Thank you.
I actually did the line last Friday. I got there around 9:30 but i REALLY didn't have to. There were 7 people ahead of me and about half of them left by 12:00 as they didn't want to wait any more. A couple people got tickets and at 2:00, i was the ONLY person in line. Around 3-4:00 several more people got on line. I got my ticket at 4:00. 2nd row, no problem.

I did the line on FR 6/22. Arrived at 5:00 pm, was about #8. A couple people got unclaimed lottery tickets around 5:30, and I got my tickets around 7:40 with no problem. I had two friends with me and they seated all 3 of us together. I don't know exactly how many people got in but I saw several people that were behind me seated nearby. If you don't want to sit in the very front, I wouldn't recommend being first in line, as they seem to give those out first. We were on the right side of row G and the view was perfect. It was a very pleasant experience overall!
No problem. And Askh8177 makes a good point. I got there at 9:30 and got a 2nd row seat which, IMO, is TOO close. The best seats come later so you don't want to get your ticket too soon. It might pay to not get there first thing. Of course, if you don't care where you sit and just want to get in, then you might as well get there early.

You're very welcome. This thread has been so helpful and positive to me and I want to pay it forward. Expect lots of cheering and high-fiving from others (:
At around 8pm we were called to the box office. Standing room only tickets were offered and we took them.
Saw a few others standing when the show started.
I was very happy with the view but you may feel different. Only the balcony part of the stage is blocked.

I’ve been very lucky with the cancellation line. I tried 3 times and have been successful twice (row E center orchestra for $219 on Valentines night). Broadway in general slows down in September... you can always get something on Stub Hub. I’d give it a try.
I've done the line three times. The last time was last Friday. Got there at 10:00 and was 9th in line. Got my ticket at 6:00. Nobody lined up behind me until around 2:00 so i could have gotten there at 1:30 and been in the same spot.
Normally i would say if you get there by 2:00, you'll be fine (the three times i've done the line, people who got in line at 2:00-3:00 always got in), however since you're coming from out of town, i would plan on getting there at 9:00 just to be sure. Bring water, snacks, something to read and a cushion to sit on. My wife and i buy 12 packs of toilet paper to sit on. That way we can throw them out before the show and don't have to carry them into the theater. 9:00 may be overkill but you're pretty much guaranteed a seat that way. There's a bathroom around the corner at the Marriott that you can use without losing your place in line. I've found there's always somebody to talk to and the time usually goes by faster than you think.

FYI - Just walked past the theater, and there was nobody waiting for cancellation tickets. That may be a first?
Anyone know is the line always against the wall on the Marriott side? or it sometimes on the other side (closer to the 8th)?
It's under the awning on the other side for most of the day, then between 6:00-6:30, they move the line over to the Marriott side to make room for the ticketholder line.
