Before the show, there were several announcements reminding everyone to turn off our cell phones. It was pretty clear they didn't want another incident.
Although considering how small the space is, I would imagine that the sound of a cell phone going off would have been very disruptive for Mary-Louise Parker's character, in particular. I'm in the camp that supports her starting the show over.
If anyone has tickets for this show the week of June 10-14 let me know. I have 2 tickets for Thursday June 11 but unfortunately I will not be able to attend. I am super bummed because these were the first tickets i bought for my trip to NYC. So if anyone is willing to trade or if anyone has one or two tickets they'd sell let me know.
im also going to a few other shows so more specific showtimes id be looking for would be:
Heisenberg opened tonight, receiving a very positive review from the New York Times and is a Critic's Pick, and a mixed-to-positive review from The Hollywood Reporter:
I saw it today and found it mostly excruciating. I really wanted to like it and was quite exciting. But Parker's quirkiness became tedious for me after a while.

I saw this past Sunday's matinee and enjoyed it very much. I haven't see a play like this in a long time that didn't have a set or much props and relies just on the writing and acting. It is so refreshing to watch. The cast was remarkable. I thought it was great from beginning to end.
Someone's phone made a sound right as the play began and the person immediately got deathly stares from the people in front of them. It might have been the sound of the phone turning off, but still... Mary Louise had just stepped on stage and I was scared.
Heisenberg is on TodayTix again for Saturday and Sunday. $40 with the fee. If you haven't used the $20 off code yet, you can get a ticket for $20. Mine is QSBQF if you need one.
For anyone who belongs to MTC's 30 for 30 program, there is a new offer that should be in your inbox. I already purchased tickets to see the final performance.
Thanks to all involved for adding more performances, I was sad that I missed out on the opportunity to see it, but am now very glad I get the chance!
I finally had the opportunity to see Heisenberg last night and was completely captivated by the show. Anchored by two terrific performances from Parker and Ardnt, I was really engaged by the text and continually wondered where the story was going. Even at the end of the show...
SPOILERS: I wasn't entirely sure if Georgie even had a son at all, and perhaps had lured Alex to New Jersey to see if he was truly interested enough in her to follow wherever she went. I think that uncertainty, obviously tied to the title of the play, enhanced what could have been merely a simple love story. END SPOILERS
If you're able to get to get to Stage II and see this show before it closes next week, definitely don't miss it! It's the perfect melding of intimate performance space, text, and two wonderful actors.
I saw it in previews and drifted off thinking about my laundry and grocery shopping. Perhaps it got better by the time it opened. The play had some interesting themes however.
