But I guess that is how Broadway Routlette can guarantee that it makes some money on tickets.
and I'm not sure if they still sell those seats for 35

It's terrible. The last time I used it the tickets I got were cheaper on all the discount sites than what I paid them.
Yeah, I can't imagine this would be good for a vast majority of experiences. You know there have to be far more bad deals (paying more than the price you could get elsewhere) to subsidize the occasional jackpot (house seats to a hot show). You can only put in 4 shows you've seen, so if you've seen any more than that, you risk having to see a show you don't want to see again. Finally, the shows list conveniently words it that these are the shows "currently on Broadway," not the ones they are currently distributing, so for all you know, everyone is getting tickets to one of the 5 or so least-demanded tickets on Broadway, night after night, with the occasional jackpot thrown in just so they can tout those experiences.
I've used them a few times now and all my experiences have been great! The seats I got for Groundhog Day were orchestra and I even got to see Sunset Boulevard in its final week! I would definitely recommend and I think they've really stepped it up with their seating from what it seems.
I've used them a few times as well and believe they are excellent. They have outstanding customer service (have been contacted by the CEO herself on several occasions) and have recently sent several people to Hamilton! Check out their Facebook page for more customer experiences. I have sat in the 3rd row of the Mezzanine for Anastasia, the back of the Orchestra for Bandstand, and the middle of the Mezzanine for A Bronx Tale.
I am thinking about trying this for September.
When does it tell you which show you are going to go see?

The Walter Kerr has the WORST balcony ever!!! Its 2 random rows that are a million miles away from the stage! Thankfully there were a few empty seats not in front of a pole so i moved :) I would give it a try! I want to try it again, i just hope the seats are better next time"
Better in front of a pole than behind a pole, right? ![]()

I won a ticket to Dear Evan Hansen this week through Broadway Roulette! Best $55 I ever spent.
The seat was Mezz Row B Seat 24.
I've used this service three times and saw MISS SAIGON, WAITRESS, and BANDSTAND. Excellent seats all three times (Bandstand was orch) and service is excellent.
I’ve never tried this, but tomorrow evening (Monday 4/16) only has 6 performances: Phantom, Summer, OOTI, School of Rock, Rocktopia, and Chicago.
Monday’s could be a good way to increase the odds of getting tickets to a show you really want, if one of the shows you want to go to has a Monday performance.
(Crossing off 4 of these narrows it down to two shows.)
I used Broadway Roulette in July and got On Your Feet while my parents got War Paint. We got orchestra seats near the back but luckily got moved up a few rows by the usher. My parents got upper mezz for War Paint. It was nice because I don't get to go to the city very often but it was also extremely expensive. I don't think I'll use it again.

bumping this because I just got a gift card and wanna hear about more experiences!!
I just did Broadway Roulette a couple of weeks ago as a Mother's Day gift for my mom! We got A Bronx Tale, which my mom was super happy with, I was also pretty pleased since it was something I hadn't seen. The seats were great - I don't remember off the top of my head where they were but I can go back and check. It's a super fun experience if you haven't seen a good number of the shows that're up for grabs. I also found out that once you make an account you'll never get the same show twice, so long as you always buy your tickets with your account!
