Does anybody know if the Mormon SRO seats are easier to get nowadays during the cold months? Is the lottery still a circus of a million people? I actually have a past dated ticket to use, but the people at Telecharge said that no one at the eugune oneill theatre will even remotely consider honoring a past date ticket unless there are a lot of seats left for a weekniight performance, which is never really the case with BOM. guess i'll just have to hang onto this past dated ticket til sometime in the future. i saw Christopher John o'neill on the tour and would like to see him again. thanks for any info one can provide on current state of SRO

The lottery is still pretty packed. Not as crazy as I've seen it before, but chances are still really low. I lost and was still able to get an SRO ticket. I think most of the people in line got tickets too. I also suggest getting in the SRO line once you enter the lottery. The people in line with me were really nice and everyone was allowed back into their original spots when we lost.

thanks for the info. what time would i have to get in line for the SRO? I agree, i've done the lottery before, and just never win due to the infinite crowd around. No sense in even really budging from the SRO line if others may not let you back in line, there are just so many lottery entries the chances of winning are so slim

SRO is usually really easy. Your wait may not be more than an hour during super cold days.

You can also get in line and wait for one of the lotto people to come down and hand you a slip.

I got in line after I entered the lotto. So not that long before they started selling tickets. I had a side spot though. If you want to be in the center, get there before the lotto.

I think due to the cold weather it is WAAAAY easier to get SRO. My roommate and I went on a freezing day super late, hilariously won the lottery, but decided to forgo the partial view seats for SRO, which the lottery guy said was the better decision. We tried SRO in the summer, showed up super early, and there were already 30 people in line, so we couldn't get tickets. Winter is the time to do it!

To each his own but no show is worth getting frostbite over to get cheap tickets

If this works for you fine but count me out. We see what we can see & somehow survive without seeing every show no matter what.

During the summer is one thing. On days like today, it is not even an issue.

With Mormon you also have a lot of pretty close options if you want to hide out somewhere out of the cold and come back to check the line (if there is one). Like the Crowne Plaza, Pret, Starbucks, Time Hotel, etc...

I actually found it really easy to get tickets to Book of Mormon. I wrote about it in my blog post (link below).

I recommend getting to the box office at least two hours before showtime to get a spot in the standing room line. You can also put your name in the lottery. I won two tickets in the lottery, and there were only 66 other people who entered the lottery that day.

Anyways, show up two hours early for standing room and if you don't get lottery, you still get a standing ticket to the show!

66 people?! Ha! Enjoy it while you can!

I got in line at roughly 4 o'clock back in October and, although me and a friend didn't win the lottery, we were the third and fourth in line to receive SRO.

I was at the lotto last night. SRO line was packed by 5:30, and the crowd for the lotto was of at least 150. Insanity, and like 15 degrees.

Is it any wonder producers keep jacking up the prices when this happens.

They realize if people are this addicted, they will pay any price so they charge it.

If you are willing to do this enjoy yourself but be prepared for ever increasing prices which you will pay.

150 doesn't seem that big, and I'm sure a lot of other people there also thought that because of the cold, there wouldn't be a huge crowd!

And of course, premium prices are crazy, but I'm genuinely appreciative of any producers who offer $27 standing room and $32 lotto.

Perhaps it's because the lottery gets you a bargain price that it's so crowded, but I recently purchased NY BoM tickets for a client for the week of March 9th. I bought them about three weeks ago and I had a very good selection of seats from Telecharge; I bought them orch row G on the aisle. It was actually harder to get tickets for the tour that has been here in Dallas for the last two weeks, basically sold out!

Has anyone tried this recently, now that the weather is warm again? What time should I plan on getting there on a random Tuesday in May?

Curious about this since I have friends that may only want to see this.  What time do I

have to get there in the morning to be guaranteed returned seats?  On a weekend?

You can't be guaranteed returned (cancellation) seats, but your odds are pretty good since they usually have a few at each performance. Are you confusing SRO with cancellation?

No, I've done this before and usually there are returned seats that are better than standing room and obstructed view.  But not at Mormon?  Can't ask these guests to stand and hope for returned seats, what is the best, if any time to get there in the morning for say a Sunday.  I'll do the waiting, will they get good seats?

Hi all.

How has the Book of Mormon lotto been lately? Packed? Looked on broadwayspotted.com and I didn't see a lotto stat for the recent weeks. Any help? :)

Last time I walked by the O'Neill, it was 5:20ish before a performance. There didn't appear to be a large residual crowd of people who'd been cut-off for tickets, so I'm going to assume it hadn't been a particularly long line. This was maybe two weeks ago on a weekday.

Has anyone tried SRO for a Saturday matinee lately?  If so, how early did you get there (and were you able to get tickets)?  Thanks!
