The Tennessee State University, Theatre Program is proud to announce that it will be holding its’ auditions for the Spring Festival of Plays on February 16th & 18th at 5:30PM in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) room 127 (Black Box). The Spring Festival of Plays supplies an opportunity for TSU seniors to wet their feet in the area of directing.

This will be a group audition for four separate productions.
You may bring a 30 Second - 1 Minute Monologue; however, this is not necessary. The Directors will have excerpts from their scripts for you to read.

Ne'Shia Holden will be directing "10,000 Cigarettes" by Alex Broun.
Description: Four sisters are gathered at their father's funeral. There they are challenged to quit smoking which stimulates dialogue as to why they smoke.
Roles: 4 WOMEN
1 MAN

Jairus Williams will be directing "The Wedding Story" by Julianne Homokay.
Description: A Narrator leads us through the life of the "perfectly" married couple.
Roles: STORYTELLER, Male or Female
BRIDE, the "Perfect" Bride.
GROOM, the "Perfect" Groom

Shemaiah Quarles will be directing "Lures" by Jeanette D.Farr.
Description: A young woman's son has just committed suicide, do to sexual molestation. The mother then plots to enact justice by luring pedophiles out to exact revenge.
Roles: 1 WOMAN
1 MAN

Daryl Allan Ritchie will be directing "Goat" by Don Nigro.
Description: An encounter takes place in a forbidden place, far from the light of the world. Here a discord concerning justice verses revenge and the very nature of good and evil are discussed as the fate of humanity is held in the balance.
Roles: 1 MAN
1 WOMAN

The performance will take place the week of April 27th. It will likely be a one time performance and will be evaluate by a Tennessee State University professor and other adjudicators. There should be relatively few rehearsals per week (3 or less) and most of the directors have flexible schedules to work with their cast.
