This is starting previews at the Vineyard this week. The cast is young and impressive, creatives are also a known entity, so I'm surprised I haven't see any chatter here about it.

Anyone planning to go soon?

I'm going on the 13th and am really looking forward to it. Quirky concept and great cast.

Matt Doyle's booty in those tight pants on the poster should sell a few tickets.

I'm going on the 7th.
Saw a reading of this a year and a half ago at Vassar and thought the show was so much fun and the music was great! Excited to see a full production of this!

Does anyone have an inkling of how long the show is? (I know we only have an approximation, but I was curious-trying to see if it'll fit in with another show I'm seeing.)

Previews start in 2 days. We'll know the running time then.

I'm going next weekend.

I mean, I have a ticket based on Mayer alone for a few weeks from now, but I'm not really tracking the show much until then, since... I only usually follow a show early if I'm trying to decide whether to buy a ticket Brooklynite, any interest?

I don't know if I'll get to this - which saddens me, but with weather concerns of the winter along with my schedule, I don't know if I'll make it into Manhattan before it closes.

Does The Vineyard often extend or are they locked in to the limited run

I think the concept sounds like a hoot.

A quick Google search on "Vineyard Theatre extends" yielded favorable results for you, dramamama!

A ray of hope! And why didn't I think of that? (Because I'm an old fart, and m brain doesn't always fire the correct synapsis.)

I'm planning on going with a friend who saw the Powerhouse reading and enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm a big fan of the talent involved (Mayer and Doyle) so I'm looking forward to it!

I'll admit, CATSNYrevival, I was on the fence...but the booty did me in. Going on the 16th!

My partner's semi-obsessed with Matt Doyle and we were both impressed by the Vassar reading, so the show is his Valentine's Day present. On the train to the city now for a three day theatre jaunt that includes "Hedwig" and "On The Town," with a side trip to the Vineyard to pick up tickets:)

I've never been to the Vineyard, is it really only 10 rows? If so, can I safely assume there are no bad sight lines? With a discount, I was offered the last row (J) all the way on the end.

Thoughts? (I think I may risk the weather during my Feb. break!)

Additionally, those that have seen the reading (and as some of your go over the next few days) anything inappropriate for a young teenager? Keep in mind, I'm pretty liberal and I'm really concerned more with his INTEREST level than language or situation. From what little I know, seems like he'd love it.

Thanks in advance.

I've never counted the rows, but it's small. No bad sight lines.

I had tickets for today which was the first preview, but a few hours ago I got this email
"Unfortunately because of the snowstorm there were delays to the arrival of some of our set pieces which have not been able to be installed with enough time for our cast to safely be able to run through the entire show. Therefore we have had to make the decision to cancel tonight's performance."

Got my tickets exchanged for tomorrow, last two seats left.

I was at the theatre around 3 or so getting my tickets, I noticed there was a lot of activity and think I saw some shelving near the box office area and maybe some of the actual "products" the supply store sells. Set pieces? Don't know, but the cancellation makes more sense having seen that.

Use the discount code: BKHero to get tickets at $59. The code expires Feb 24th. I think that's quite a deal.

Went to first preview today! It's a really fun and sweet show, with some amazing music. I think with a little more time to work out some of the rough edges, it will get much stronger, it has huge potential and a great cast and team.

Dramamamma - Just an FYI that the show is very kid friendly. It is wonderful for adults, too, but children of all ages will enjoy it. I am bringing some friends later this month and their children range from 8-18.

I'm seeing the show this weekend and need to catch a bus afterwards. Approximate run time?
