Fiddler on the Roof, original run, 1970.
It hasn't happened yet, but it will be Book of Mormon, in November.
The first professional show I saw (in Melbourne) was Annie, but the first I attended was Les Mis.

I believe it was the '96 revival of ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, but I was 8 at the time so I don't remember 100% percent. I also saw ANNIE, TITANIC, STEEL PIER, and CANDIDE all around that same time.

High school trip, 2-show day, New Year's week, 1980:
EVITA, LuPone/Patinkin
SWEENEY TODD, Lansbury/Cariou
Impactful day — to put it mildly.

Updated On: 9/16/14 at 07:49 AMMy first day in New York ever I saw Mame at a matinee and Hello, Dolly that night. It took a week to wipe the smile off my face. That's a lot of "happy"! Oh, the next day I saw Ethel Merman in Annie Get Your Gun.

1776 with my middle school history class. It was a class trip. Must have been 1970 or 71. After that, I was hooked!

CATS. It's about cats. Singing cats.
You'll love it.

You lucky turkey. How was She?
My biggest memory of 'how She was' is of her speaking with us in a private pre-arranged chat after the matinee. After the fireworks display we'd just witnessed, the suddenly tiny, unassuming young woman in glasses who graciously gave us a moment between shows rocked my young mind as to what performers do. In short — magic.
