A New "View" Starts Today

Enjoyed the Sister Act reunion on Thursday. Sad so many of the nuns have passed, but glad to see Andrea Robinson there since she never got credit for voicing Sister Mary Roberts.

Ya but it was still strange to see them try to pass it off as her voice yesterday.  Both during the interview and during the performance.

What happened with Jedediah Bila?!? She just announced that today is her last day on The View. I couldn't find anything about it on the net. To announce this on the same day that they're celebrating Sarah's birthday and welcoming Candace back to promote Fuller House, and with only one day's notice, something big must have gone on behind the scenes? Anyone have a clue?

A friend of my who works BTS text me and said, "Watch the show today." I took it as I love me some Sarah and it's her Birthday episode.

BIG loss for them. This 5 has INSANE chemistry.

Interesting that Meghann McCain announces her departure from Outnumbered and two days later Jedediah announces her departure from The View both to focus on "other projects."

Gossip sites are already reporting she was fired Saturday and it might've been over some of her comments about Hilary Clinton. Ridiculous, if true.

Just when things were starting to gel, the powers that be go and show that they have no clue what they are doing.

I tend to believe that she's been fired. With Whoopi signing on for another season, there was a lot of hype about this season since everyone was returning. And when she described her "other projects", other than writing a book, she doesn't have anything else going on. She talked of not liking working at Fox News, so I doubt she returns there. And with Sarah Haines going on leave in a few months, it'll be interesting to 1.) see how much Paula is on the show now & 2.) see how they scramble to replace Bila with various guest co-hosts. I'm sure the truth will unravel over time.

looks like it'll be McCain. But considering the sudden departure, I doubt she jumps into the show right away.

Really, really, odd since they came back with a 5% increase of viewers.

Huge blow to the show, especially after they finally gelled really well.  Now with Sara going on leave, Meaghan possibly coming on board, and the rotating guest host; it seems like they're starting from scratch again.

I agree. The constant changing of cohosts damages the show's reputation and Barbara's legacy, IMO.

And I basically don't count Paula. She's there once a week, maybe twice now if someone is sick. I'm sure they're rushing to get McCain on the show ASAP and before Sarah goes on leave. That would leave them with 3 regular hosts(Whoopi, Joy and Sunny). Surprised we haven't seen Paula on the show today or yesterday considering the situation.

Agreed. Basically only still on the show to cover for Whoopi when she's not there on Fridays. But since there was no time to get any guest co-hosts this week, I'm surprised we haven't seen her this week.

There's  A LOT of Jedediah tea here. Who knows how accurate it al is, but it would explain things.

That article Ljay linked mentioned problems with the hair and makeup staff.  When I went to a Friday taping last May, every break she had her hair and makeup touched up.  I was trying to take some pictures during the commercial breaks, but couldn't.  The makeup and hair people were constantly in the way.  I was thinking , she's an attractive woman.  Does she really need her makeup reapplied that often?  I was sitting pretty close to the set .  I could hear her comments, during the breaks, to those staff members.  Let's say, she came across kind of demanding.

The show needs a conservative host, whether you agree with her or not. Otherwise it's just Joy breaking out her liberal pom-poms throughout the show and no one to argue for or against them. Bila didn't seem to be enjoying herself much. Maybe she always felt it was 4 vs. 1, but I'm not surprised to see her go.

Very odd today having the Idris Elba interview air today that was taped when Bila was still on the show. Slightly awkward. I'm assuming McCain starts next week? Joy is way too happy without a conservative view point there.

I know it was just the first day, but she really doesn't fit in. Beyond the politics (of which she's too far right of the other ladies), there's no chemistry.  Which Jeb (or The Talk women) have in spades.
