I was at that live election return special. It was one of the most horrific experiences of my life. To be in the room with Alicia Machado, and watch her speak about Trump's treatement of her, while he was surging in early returns and creeping up on Clinton's leads in battlegrounds. They had planned a super anti Trump program, convinced like most of us, that the night was going to be in Clinton's favor. Instead, it was one of the most awkward experiences of my life. People were crying in the audience, and they were begging us to clap and cheer.

Ugh, that sounds awful...
I have to say I really enjoyed yesterday's episode with the 4 originals. I wonder with this possibly being Whoopi's last season if they'll offer the moderator's spot to Viera?
I doubt that Viera would go back. Yesterday's show was a reminder that the View has veered far away, from what it once was. Those four different women still had incredible chemistry. They were an artfully chosen group. With this current rotation, they're just throwing spaghetti at the wall and going with what sticks. I see why Joy is back, it's a great job for a stand-up, who doesn't want to be on the road, 40 weeks a year. Meredith Viera's solo show didn't work out, but she now has a lot of freedom, as a journalist. She also has a husband, who has special medical needs. I doubt that Meredith wants to sit next to Candace Cameron (Now, magically, Trump's number one supporter.) 4 or 5 days a week.
It was very odd. It seemed that a subset of the audience was not applauding. It didn't make any sense.

"Anyone catch that awkward audience shot before Bernie came out?"
"It was very odd. It seemed that a subset of the audience was not applauding. It didn't make any sense."
That was a "canned" audience shot, typically used when someone does something physically inappropriate. I think cutting to it was a flub. I wouldn't be surprised if they address it on tomorrow's show.
where's Sunny Hostin been? It seems like they're sticking with the same 5 now(Whoopi, Bure, Joy, Haines & Bela) with Paula filling for Whoopi on Friday. Only 4 co-hosts on today's show.
Sunny's back! Earlier this season, it seemed like she maybe had lost the spark that we loved about her last season, but she's on fire today.
I actually find the show unwatchable without Whoopi, but I do believe this will be her final season. Does Joy automatically become the moderator? If so, it'll basically turn into the Joy Behar Show with friends.
I mentioned it a while back, when she was on Wendy Williams she said this was her final season. I don't know why the press didn't run wild with it.
I like Joy as the moderator, but I think they're going to want a star power name again, like Rosie and Whoopi. But it would be so nice to see Meredith back.
The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation honored Whoopi Goldberg by awarding her with the Elizabeth Taylor Legacy Award for her 30 years of AIDS activism. Elton John, Lionel Richie, and Colin Farrell delivered special messages and four of Elizabeth Taylor's grandchildren joined Whoopi to present her with the award.

Candace is officially out. Despite any rumors you may hear I can tell you this was all her decision.
Praise Jesus! I wouldn't want to defend Trump, on a daily basis either. You'd think that would have stopped her from voting from him, but...
and just like that they're down to 6. Well, 5.5 with Paula who's barely on the show.
I don't think that too many people are questioning, whether or not this was Candace's decision. I'm sure that they would to have loved to keep her on, since she's the only one on the panel who (kind of) openly voted for the president elect. However, I think that she saw a rough time ahead and backed out. They seemed to be pretty accommodating with her other commitments. I'm just wonder if we'd be having this conversation, if Clinton had won the election.
Her name has always been thrown around, when there's been a vacancy. She did a similar panel position, in Oprah's final years. She'd be wonderful. Candace leaving and Ali replacing sounds too good to be true, but I hope that I'm just being cynical.
