Coming October 16--Michael C. Hall as HEDWIG! |
Huh! I've liked him in everything I've seen him do, but I wouldn't have guessed him for this part. Anyone see him in Cabaret? How is he musically? I'll be curious!
I am ECSTATIC...he will be phenomenal. Not giving up hope for a JCM stint at some point, but I am very happy with this news!

I love him, I don't think he's ever played it anywhere before. He has a lot of stage experience, and I think the sales will be huge. Excited.

I was fortunate to get to see Hall's final performance in Cabaret before he left to start filming the SIX FEET UNDER pilot. The cast held a lovely send-off for him after the curtain call.
Anyway, he was pretty brilliant as the Emcee, and should be a great Hedwig as well!

Sales weren't exactly huge for The Realistic Joneses...and that had an all-star cast along with Hall.
I've always found him to be one of the best actors working today, and every single performance he gives is pretty phenomenal. Also, his singing voice is much stronger than both Rannels' and Harris'

One imagines the star power of that show, and not the material, kept it open as long as it was...

This came out of the blue
I bet he will kill in the role. I am sorry but I had to go there for the obvious there.

Crazy that Hedwig will be starring two different Halls. Still praying John Mitchell will do a run. Interested to see Hall take over.
I am seriously trying to find a way back to NYC this year to see this show again with MCH!
Play Esq. - The Realistic Joneses is a completely different animal from Hedwig. I have a feeling more will be inclined to go and see him in this role and sales a bit better. I mean promotion for this alone will help it more than the other.

That was a boring play. Totally different. He is on the same level as NPH fame wise, so I'm sure tickets sales will be strong.

I'm sure he'll be terrific in the role, and I hope the show will continue to thrive, but he is not on the same level of fame as NPH.

He's starred in two of the most successful premium cable series that both had long runs. He's won multiple SAG and Golden Globe awards, and he's done some really good theater.
His career is different than NPH, but on his own terms I think he could be a comparable draw.

I'm definitely with you. I'm a huge MCH fan! And I just want to experience every Hedwig that I possibly can.

I am finally seeing HEDWIG this Sunday with Andrew Rannells .... I have searched to read reviews of his performance and found none.
Will anyone here offer some impressions of Andrew Rannells's performace as HEDWIG who has seen the show please?
Thanks !

MCH is definitely as famous as NPH to many people ... to the millions of cult-like Dexter fans, he is definitely MORE famous than NPH. I like NPH and I saw him in Hedwig and he was great. But I love MCH and I would see him in almost anything (including Realistic Joneses which I thought sucked but I went to see it!)

I'm thrilled they haven't gone for stunt casting just yet, MCH is going to be a wonderful Hedwig and can see him doing wonders with it!
