I saw a Violet cast playbill! I think it was like $40 - enough for me to not be interested.

I mentioned this earlier, but I think the Dancers Over 40 is the best if you're looking for a specific Playbill. It was the only one this year that seemed to have their Playbills alphabetized, which made searching for what I wanted so easy considering the crowds and messes of Playbills at other tables. They also had a great variety of old Playbills and current ones.

A note on the price, too. Earlier in the day, I stopped at one table that had original West Side Story, Follies, and Little Night Music Playbills for $25 each. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, so I waited, and found 2 copies of Follies and Little Night Music at the Dancers Over 40 table for a grand total of $2 (versus $50). I know it's for a great cause, but my money bought me a lot more merchandise because I waited to get there!

Of I'd seen it I probably would have bought it. There are very few out there signed by the whole cast. For some reason they were not into the fan mail thing.

Hi everyone,

Where did you get the Wicked window cards/posters? I've always wanted one but I didn't look too hard because what I really wanted this year was a Once poster that had the logo, not the 'guy/girl' windowcard. I got the Once poster which is black with the Once guitar logo in the center and lyrics and doodles written all over it in white. I have never seen it anywhere else. Does anyone know how I could get a few more of them because it's so beautiful and all my friends want one! Has anyone seen them sold elsewhere?

Thanks!

The favorite thing I bought was the Kyle Scatliffe grinning Enjolras button. I also picked up various snacks at various tables. A lot of tables had some cool shirts, but they were never of shows I cared quite enough about to wear a shirt for.

Gee, if that was less congested I would hate to go when it was really busy. This was my first time going. I thought it was very crowded and some tables you could hardly get to, but those were many with a lot of playbills (which I don't collect). Once I waited and finally got my turn to look, many times, there was always somebody ,usually a fangirl reaching over me or trying to push me out of the way. I really enjoyed it more when I went back after my show. The crowds were less and the prices very good. I got back around 5:30 and it seemed like some tables were already closed down or in the process of packing up. I bought some random crap that I really didn't need. But for the collectors and fans I can see why they enjoy it.

ArtMan, I've been going to the flea for 6 or 7 years and this year was the most crowded I've ever seen it. I disagree strongly with whoever said otherwise.

^^I agree, out of the past 3yrs. I've been there this was by far the most crowded I've seen it. I also had trouble getting to many tables and I stayed at a hotel right around the corner left the front door at 9:40 and it was already quite crowded. I had much more success other years.

Only worse one crowd wise I can think of was 2009. But that was a special level of hell. We don't discuss that one anymore.

^That was the actual worst.

But I agree, I felt this year was very crowded. There were tables I couldn't even get up to in the morning (or in the afternoon) because there were so many people around it. People also seemed to be more aggressive this year, I was getting elbowed out of the way when I was standing at a table browsing or even waiting to pay with money in my hand.

Can someone PM with what happened in 2009? That was two years before I started going.

It was held inside at Roseland that year because of impending bad weather and it was AWFUL. I honestly thought I was going to be crushed by people, it was impossible to move around and extremely hot. I didn't last very long in the morning, but I went back in the early evening after my show got out and was actually able to walk around and get up to the tables.

Let's never speak of 2009 again. It was horrible.

Just thought of something...

Do autographed things sold at the Bwy Flea come with COAs? Or Maybe only the high-ticket auctions?

Nope. The only way you can really prove if something is real is if you do the autograph line yourself. But I sure hope these sellers would not be dishonest. It would give them and BC/EFA a bad vibe and like they cannot be trusted. No good charity needs that.

Since no one is making a profit off of the items, the money is going to charity, I wouldn't think anyone would even THINK to fake a signature for the Bway Flea.

Thanks, both. I was actually thinking of such autographed items making it to OTHER auction venues like eBay. There's no way to prove otherwise (I mean, most signatures are just giant squiggles, really). I don't like autographed anything on places like eBay for that reason...

This info may now be obsolete. When I was stage dooring It's Only A Play, on Sunday, the stage crew had autographed windowcards for $30. Everybody signed it. Only one person bought one, which was a surprise, because I thought it was a really great price. (I don't collect them). I recognized Nathan lane's autograph right away as legit. If you are near the theatre. maybe they still have them.

I totally would have bought one. I stage doored on Tuesday and they didn't offer them, but maybe when they start to collect for the holidays they'll only charge that.
