If/Then Stage Door

Hello all,
Saw If/Then for the second time - Sunday, August 3rd - and loved it even more! Many of the actors came out the stage door and were so gracious. We had a nice, quiet crowd. Unfortunately, Idina did not come out, and I was so disappointed. We casually spoke to a gentleman who was working the door after the fact - we bumped into him on the street - and he said she left the building through another exit. and she felt so bad about not signing autographs. I totally understand how exhausting 8 shows a week must be, plus balancing motherhood etc. My question is - does she normally do stage door appearances during the week? I would like to try again after an evening performance. Thank you all for your time!!

She usually comes out, when I waited, it took her over an hour to come out, but she signed everyone's playbill and was very friendly.

I think she usually comes out, but didn't yesterday because she was going to her Abroaderway camp.

When I went after a Sunday matinee in June, she didn't go out the stage door, but instead, went out the theater exit and straight into her car (I know she's not obligated to come out, I don't need that speech) So, I asked the stage manager if she usually does Sunday matinees, and he said that she comes out 98% of the time on Sundays, and that chances are she had somewhere to be (What's kind of funny is that whenever she has somewhere to be, it's always on a Sunday). Anyway, the stage manager also said that I'm better off coming back another night, so I'm going back tomorrow night, so I'll let you know how it goes!

Don't most people make plans to coincide with their weekends?!

I would think when you're someone like Idina and your name is on the title, you don't really get to make weeknd plans.

Her weekend runs from the end of show Sunday through the start of the show on Tuesday, so that would be why she may have to skip stage door on Sundays more often than other days.

Why not? She has all morning both days and Sunday evenings to do whatever she wants. I'm sure she has a life outside the theater.

That is true. I almost forgot about Mondays, because just about every show is dark on Monday.

I know this sounds kind of crazy, but I'm seeing the show next week and I really want to meet Idina and I know how crowded the stage door is, but do you think I could get my brother (who's not seeing the show) to save a spot for me? Would it be easy to get to him if he was in the front or would I get attacked by her hardcore fans?

Perhaps you could obtain a playbill and give it to him to get signed for you just to be on the safe side.

It's not 14 people deep, you'l be able to just hand it to him through the people...

You might be able to switch spots with your brother, but depending on how packed the stage door is, I doubt you will be able to secure a spot right up front along with him. You will definitely be able to pass up your playbill to him. As long as you aren't disturbing anyone else's spot, you will be fine. The fans won't attack you lol. They are far too focused on meeting Idina!
