As usual, this is another thread to get people's opinion on which album of "On The Town" I should pick up. I have the film soundtrack (as I love the performances/songs/film), but I know the film is a different beast in itself when it comes to the songs for the show.

If anyone can help me out, that would be great!

Hopefully they'll record the revival, but for now in terms of which is most compete, I usually listen to the Jay Records studio cast recording.

I don't know why you WOULDN'T want the recording from the early 1960's that includes four of the original cast members - Comden, Green, Nancy Walker and Cris Alexander.

The above mentioned studio cast recording with original cast members is the best for me.

That's my go-to recording. Still has great sound and the last remaster added a recording of the Overture and a suite made up of the dance music.
