@StephanCasey

That is the impression that I got. Now, this is speculation on my part, but I am guessing that because the show has an altered schedule this week due to the fourth of July, he didn't want to take two performances in a row off. He's usually out on Thursdays but since this Friday is the fourth, they canceled that performance and instead had a show on Monday (yesterday) instead. Maybe he didn't want to take off two days in a row?

And, the dates in August have been up on Telecharge for awhile now. I believe he has some upcoming concert dates and that's why he will be gone.

Does anyone know if Ramin is leaving in September? He seems like he would do the job for 6 months and bounce.

I think it may be too early to tell. It looks like this production is closing in January, so there is a chance he may stay a little longer until then.

Does it look like it will be closing in January? Sales poor or something?

Just because tickets are on sale through January, doesn't mean it is closing in January!!!

However, Playbills did become black and white as of yesterday. Oof.

They're making over a million dollars a week. This show isn't going anywhere, anytime soon.

It wouldn't surprise me if they do close in January. All of the other international version of the new productions didn't play long and lengthy runs. I am aware Broadway is a totally different animal and feel that it's only selling well because it's peak tourist season and Les Mis is a show that tourists know and love. They would rather see something that they know they would like rather than branching out for something new.

It would not be a shock to the system for me if they stayed for the summer and fall tourist season and then left.

Not necessarily a huge deal, but it seems to be consistently 50% off on TKTS.

Well I just saw the show and I am not a professional New Yorker like most of you but I Loved it. Andy was great and came out with lots of energy and maintained it all the way through and I really liked his voice and chsracterizations I saw the original Broadway production in 2003 right before it closed and although I am a barricade tut style purist I enjoyed this production better I have seen It 4 times with touring companies in Dallas. Maybe his new engagement gave Andy some spark. Lol. Ramin and Will were great too I even liked the women Nikki was really good and I had heard negative remarks about her performance beforehand I had seen her in Book of Mormon so knew she had the chops. Thanks to everyone who responded to my original post. Oh and Kyle was out but Jason Forbach wS excellent My 12 show trip is about over as I have Beautiful and Billy Joel tomorrow and then back to Texas.

Thanks for coming back and sharing that :) personally I've never really card much for critics and other people in terms of opinions. They do know what they're talking about but often the things that bother them just make the performance more relatable for me.

Andy also Tweeted something about listening more than talking in rehearsal when he got back. I can only imagine that since everyone found McCarrel and Robinson's performances so good he will try and learn from them and see where he was going wrong.

Jason Forbach is on for Enjolras and Christianne Tisdale is on for Madame Thenardier this afternoon. Have either of them went on prior to this?

Jason Forbach went on for a few dates in April when Kyle Scatliffe was at the Olivier Awards, and he's been on since Friday, I believe. I saw him on Saturday and thought he was fantastic. Gorgeous voice.

^^ Totally agree. He was wonderful today and so was Christianne Tisdale as Madame Thenardier.

Jason was Enjolras on the national tour for over a year and a half, so he knows the character pretty well.

Jason and Max Quinlan have been splitting the time (4 shows each) for a few weeks now.

Saw the show again on Wednesday afternoon. Andy was great and definitely has improved even more. His vacation definitely did wonders for his performance.. it was really fresh.

Christianne Tisdale was Mme Thenardier and was great. I think it might have been her second show. Keala was back for the evening show.

Is Kyle Scatliffe ill? How long has he been out?

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Kyle Scatliffe is out on vocal rest, per his twitter. It sounds like he's been having some issues worse then he originally thought. He's been out about 2 weeks.

I saw Les Miz last night and didn't realize there had been cast turnover. When did Andy Mientus leave?

Andy hasn't entirely left - he's on a leave after getting cast as a big villain in "The Flash" so he's filming that currently. He'll be back toward the end of the month. Chris McCarrell and Matt Rossell (Who was scheduled to be on last night, but had to call out sick, with Arbender Robinson playing Marius) split the role for the time Andy is out.

Andy is currently on leave to film a TV series. He'll be back next week, I believe...unfortunately. He's horribly boring.

Got it. I was excited to see Arbender. Is he the first black Marius? And last night's u/s for Ramin was Nathaniel Hawthorne. Four people in the front row gave him a long standing ovation after "Bring Him Home." He also mixed up some lines during the show but quickly got back on track each time. I couldn't help but wonder if it was his first time on for the role?

He is the first black Marius on Broadway, I believe. (I could be wrong, but that's what I was told.)
Nathaniel Hackmann has been an u/s for Valjean since the US tour, actually. He's gone on plenty of times, and is one of two alternates for the role, Aaron Walpole being the other. They switch in the role on Karimloo's scheduled show off each week, and if he calls out sick.
