He currently plays a number of roles in Bullets Over Broadway, most amusingly in "Hot Dog Man".

I'll agree he is a one of a kind, starting out as a Fosse dancer and parlaying that into character role after character role. He's also a hell of a nice guy.

...but Young Frankenstein was "back in the day"? You should have seen him in Chicago in '96.

A great talent. Not surprising he works constantly.

I had the HUGEST crush on Jimmy when CHICAGO opened and (since I'm a chicken and can't ask people out) used to hang out with him. He became a very good friend. One of the sweetest people you ever could meet. The best thing that ever happened was when he took me to a private party at Sardi's when Bebe Neuwirth signed her caricature and I got to meet almost the entire cast. Ahhh, good times. (And my first ever TBT memory. LOL.)

Oh thanks for that, Broadway Legend! Love me some Jim Borstelmann! Yeah, to me "Young Frankenstein" was 'back in the day', but I do agree with your assessment of "Chicago". Again, Happy Birthday Jim!!

Broadway Bob, do you happen to have any pictures of that event?

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

I just recently had the pleasure of meeting him at the Bullets stage door, he lit up like a christmas tree when I asked him, by name, to sign my poster. After he signed the rest of the line he came back, game me a pat on the back and thanked me.

I had to look in my playbill during Bullets to see who this delightful actor was!

I don't have any pics. It wasn't a planned thing. We were supposed to grab a quick bite after our respective shows (him performing, me ushering) and when I got to his stage door he surprised me with that instead. One if the best surprises if my life! On our way out we met a very drunk Charles Nelson Reilly sitting right underneath his own caricature in the main dining room. Lol!!!

I think JIm Borstelmann would make a good "Amos Hart" in "Chicago". Thoughts?
