I don't blame Lea Michele for turning it down. These two producers have no track record to speak of, and no deal with any network - so why would she consider it?

We went to Lea Michele first, because it’s such an obvious and commercial choice to us.

Also, if they approach the whole project with this line of thinking, it's likely to be dreadful in any case. If I were on Jessie's team, I would advise her to steer clear too. Not that it's ever going to happen.

I do think she would be great, though. They would be lucky to have her.

I was basing my comment about her being able to be kooky on more than just her Tony performance.
