It's great that they responded like that, they are doing amazing stuff up there. Have tickets to the last show and I CANT WAIT!

I really want to be at the final performance. I waited too long on purchasing a discounted seat, and it looks like they've pulled the code for the final show. Ugh.

There are a couple of seats that are $77 (rear mezz) and $87 (rear orchestra) for closing performance, which isn't bad at all. You can save convenience/service charge by buying it straight from the box office.
Yep, I was there tonight also. Crazy! I was waiting for JRB to come out for a curtain call, the applause for him being what it was.

We were at the Tuesday show and I am so glad we went back again. Kelli and Steven killed it and it was so great to be part of an audience that gave them so much love.

So glad they are having a great final week. Going out with a bang. I cannot wait until Sunday! How many of us are going? I'm in row B. Most I've ever spent on a Broadway ticket. Worth it!

There was at least five minutes of applause after each song last night, and at curtain call 15 minutes where the crowd went nuts and just wouldn't leave. The love for the show was so great. I was able to get Jason Robert Brown's autograph when he was still in the pit.
"There was at least five minutes of applause after each song last night."
Well, there was prolonged applause after each song, for sure. if it lasted five minutes, the show would have ended at 11:30 instead of the usual 10:45, when it ended last night. It might have seemed like five minutes, but take out a watch a stare at the minute hand for five minutes--it's an eternity. It's why witnesses' estimates of time are always very suspect.
Please don't think I'm being critical. I agree with the basic premise that there were long ovations, which were deserved.

Love it when fans of musical make up the house - wish every performance was like that. I attended a Saturday matinee a few weeks back and only a few songs got impassioned reactions. But the overall reception at the end was very warm. Love listening to the score on the recording but not enough to want to sit through it again. Very similar reaction I had with his Parade. But Songs For A New World I could sit through over and over again because it was wall to wall JRB music, pesky books and character development are not his greatest allies

"Love it when fans of musical make up the house - wish every performance was like that." Hate it when they do. They give a completely lopsided take on a show, and often irritate those in the audience with a more dispassionate vew of the material who just want to enjoy what's on stage.

^ I'm pretty sure After Eight was deprived of attention as a child. Thus, he now feels the need to make up for that deprivation.
"They give a completely lopsided take on a show, and often irritate those in the audience with a more dispassionate vew of the material who just want to enjoy what's on stage.. People pay to see a show, not audience members trying to outdo one another in their displays of undying love."
"The hysteria regarding this show gets more overwrought with each passing day."
Give me a break. I've been going to Broadway shows for almost 40 years, and I have yet to see a performance ruined or even adversely affected by hysterical fans. People don't treat Broadway shows like rock concerts.

"Perhaps it will abate after ghe show closes. but then some new object of veneration will come along and it'll start all over again."
I think people should have to label a thread like this, like by putting Bridges in the thread title or something, so that people who dislike a show could more easily avoid them.

That makes me so happy! :)
I'm assuming no rush tickets will be available Sunday. Hope they sell as many full priced tickets as possible and don't need to offer rush for the final performance!

100% THIS
After Eight, stop coming into Bridges threads and spreading your hate. These threads are positive and full of love for this beautiful show. Especially this one about the last week of it, and how much positive attention it's getting, and how excited people are to see the last show. Go away.

^ I think it's because people keep adding the seats to their cart. And when time expires, it's released again.
I have an extra FREE ticket for this Saturday at 2:00PM. I'd really like to give it to someone who hasn't seen the show yet, but will consider giving it to a super fan if no one else takes it. My friend who was going to use the ticket no longer can make it.
I'll do a first come first served basis here.
