I stopped by the box office on April 3rd. The girl working at the box office informed me that they have a $32 rush policy, but the rush seats are NOT reserved. They are size mezzanine seats Rows JJ-MM if I'm not mistaken, but if they sell in advance, then rush seats aren't sold that day. She said they haven't been able to do rush so far because they've always been sold out. Any remaining full price seats are sold half price to students 30 minutes before the show.

"JBroadway, it's not because the HipTix are sold out. It's because all the seats are sold out."
Oh, I see. The way I've heard it explained before made it sound like they set aside seats for Hiptix, and if they don't sell all of THOSE seats, they sell them for the rush.
Hi! I just student-rushed it last night. And since nobody posted their experience, I thought I'd give it a go... So as you know, they begin selling tickets 30 mins before the curtain is raised. (7:30p.m.) I got to the theater around 5:30pm and nobody was there. I came back around 6:00, and there were was one other person ahead of me. I waited with a friend until 7:30 and there were about 10 people online. There were I believe around 6-7 tickets available. The orchestra part of the theatre is set up like a cabaret with small tables and chairs, barstools and high tables unlikes the seats in the front and rear mezz. So there was one orchestra tickets all the way in the fourth row (chair with a table for $82), and a few seats in the last row of the orchestra (high tables with stools for $62), and like one or two seats in the second to last row of the rear mezz ($57) I purchased the seat in the last row of the orchestra, cause I was going with a friend and we wanted to sit together, and you can see EVERYTHING except a few members of the band which sit on the top of the stage and is blocked by the mezz which overhangs. But the view of the stage is CRYSTAL CLEAR. I'd advise to SIT in the orchestra because the stage is quite small.....also, we sat at an aisle seat and Alan Cumming walks around the entire orchestra during "Don't Tell Mama" grinning at the audience... it was pretty great to see him up close.
