In my opinion Sutton danced it best, Stephanie sang it best, and Reachel acted it best. My favorite of the three would have to be Stephanie. I am curious to hear your opinions. Don't get me wrong I loved all of their performances but I liked Stephanie's best. And I am only comparing the revial's Reno's, which is the only reason I am not mentioning Ethel Merman or Patti LuPone.
Did not see Stephanie, but Sutton was a big surprise. Not known for her brassiness, she hit the stage running and proved what a terrific actress she really is. No trace of Fay Apple or Millie or Jo, she was brash and funny and altogether great. Rachel York was really good in the tour, and danced way better than I thought she could, and was very funny. Listen, I'm so old my benchmark is still Eileen Rodgers in the 1962 off-Broadway revival, listen to the recording if you don't believe me.
Let's see with the last revival and subsequent tour I saw Sutton Foster, Stephanie Block, Tari Kelly, Rachel York and Kristie Kerwin. With the exception of Tari, none of the ladies could touch Sutton in the dance department. The songs fit Stephanie like a glove. The comedy definitely suited Rachel. As much as I love Sutton, my favorites for this production were Stephanie and Rachel.

I only saw Sutton, but for me that was one of the best liver performances I've ever seen. Throughout the entire show she was just perfect. I find it hard to believe that anyone was better than her.
