I want to splurge and buy myself a Christmas present and I am dying to see Pippin again. I am curious what the view is from Row A (not AA), specifically A4 or A6. Too close? I also have the choice of Row E14. Is this too far to the side? Or should I just buy mezzanine seats again?

Have you checked if there are any seats available in the mezzanine. I sat in 3rd row side aisle seat, either row C or D, and thought that was as close as I would want to be. I also saw it from the mezzanine and while it was nice to see it up close, it was even better further back. I may try to see this again after the holidays, take advantage of the discount offer available.

Posted: 12/23/13 at 7:33pmThat is really close but the cast will probably interact with you if that means something to you. I sat Row A, center mezzanine and it was perfect, you saw everything and it was nice to have that height, considering the set design.

Posted: 12/23/13 at 8:08pmId say its way too close to fully take in the show. In my opinion-and I love to be close-this is one show its not in your best interest. Mezz is better.

Posted: 12/23/13 at 8:13pmI made a mistake. The Seats are B4 and B6 orchestra. Does that make any difference? When I saw it back in June, the view from the Mezzanine was great. But I guess I'm going for a little bit of a difference experience this time. Thanks for your responses! Looks like I have some decisions to make

Posted: 12/23/13 at 9:13pmI did rush on Saturday and sat B 10. Very interactive, but you see a lot of the actors backs and miss so upstage action especially stage left. I loved the experience though!
It was 6 hours, I don't even like to have sex and eat bacon for 6 hours.

Posted: 12/24/13 at 4:18pmI sat next to the last row upstairs, center right on the aisle and got a high five from Matthew James Thomas during the second act opener. That was a nice surprise.

Saw Pippin for the third time Sunday, January 12 from the second row Orchestra. If this were my first (and only time) viewing of this show I felt it was too close. However, for my revisit this was great because I saw all the fantastic facial expressions that you miss if you are in the Mezzanine. I also previously hated the barnyard scene with the animals in Ordinary Life. Really did not like it but this time up close with the facial expressions it was much more enjoyable. One thing that I did miss seeing was the levitating effect of the deceased king in Morning Glow. From the second row I really only saw the floating as Patina raised her arms as high as she would go before revealing the effect.
I was hesitant about how I would like Tovah having seen Andrea the two previous times. I really enjoyed her a lot! She was a lot of fun and brought her own take on the role.
Of course - without a doubt I was once again wowed by the performance of Erik Altemus...even more now with the close ups of his expressions. Will still hold that wish to some day see him in the role of Pippin.
The show as a whole was still fresh and the performers are giving it their all. No one is walking through their role.
I did miss not seeing Stephanie Pope in the show yesterday.

Posted: 1/13/14 at 10:39amI'd say A is too close too. I saw it from Row E (two seats off the aisle) in November and felt like I was missing some of the periphery, but it was still fantastic. I just got tickets for next weekend and will be seeing it from Row D this time, center aisle.
