I would think not since The Marquis has been taken by the Rascals and its getting kind of late to announce something

Probably for the best. My little heart wouldn't have been able to take it.

I know you. I know you. I know you.

I am seeing Liza this March at Disney Hall. I hope I don't regret it as much I regret seeing Elaine Strich when she played there. It was a very sad display.

I hope this isn't happening. I can't bear to see Liza try to perform anymore. The last two times were abysmal. Charging people Broadway prices would be a crime. I adore Liza but think she should do more of an Actor's Studio tour where she gets interviewed, shows clips and takes questions. Her singing is done.

Sometimes it's excitement enough just to announce things.

As delightful as her show at the Palace was in 2008, I'd really love her to do a small show with just a piano, no dancers, and along with her familiar K&E stuff, other songs by other songwriters..in lower keys. But she never will. I don't think some of the more delusional members of her fan base would accept that. And Liza herself.

I think Liza would accept that happily, as evidenced even by Liza's last album, "Confessions". I think the questions is if it would sell tickets, and that questions keeps her from doing it.

When fans see stars in concert, they want to hear their favorite songs. Many stars would happily never sing some of those songs again, but it's those songs that crowd came for.

OK, so do "Maybe This Time" and "The World Goes 'Round" (transposed) with a piano, and then other stuff. I thought CONFESSIONS was a very good album, and I had hoped it would have sparked a new, quieter Liza show.

If she were to play a smaller house on Broadway, like the Booth or even the Music Box or Neil Simon, I think all the fans interested in seeing a non-Halson, non-out of breath Liza would be able to get tickets and keep the houses sold out for two weeks. The Palace or MSG, probably not.

Dame - I know what you mean. Several friends invited me to the Walt Disney Concert Hall show. Many of whom don't follow musical theatre, but of course know and love Liza. I think it's great that she's still appealing to a younger generation of gay men -- most of my friends are in their 20s or early 30s -- but I just don't think I could handle hearing her voice at this point in its decline. I'll just enjoy the Carnegie Hall CD. I'm so glad that she remains a wonderful actress, though. Her appearances on shows like Law & Order SVU and, of course, Arrested Development are always memorable.

I totally agree. I saw this show at Town Hall last year and Liza was nowhere near her old self, but did try hard and was effective in some Charles Aznavour story songs.
As always, Alan Cumming walked away with the show and tried to help Liza out as much as he could.

I am seeing her this Friday night and hope she doesn't disappoint. It will be my first time seeing her.

To the person who said stop going. I AM. It's criminal to charge 150 bucks (which I paid) to be performing at that level.

To the person who said Liza should perform a stripped down set-that is what I have seen the last two times and she has a hard time carrying her own show with no distractions. She essentially had a band and herself. She was winded, had trouble with songs, got oxygen off stage and needed to sit down a lot.

Both shows were woefully short. One without an encore.
