Has anyone ever been in (or directed) this version of Once Upon a Mattress? I'm most likely going to be directing this in the spring and I'd like to find out what songs are cut from the original. The R and H website did not tell. Any information?

Did this one a couple of years ago and it was great. Obviously things have to be changed as Larkin can't be pregnant in the G2K version, so everyone just wants Dauntless to get married, so they can do the same. Not a crazy change. The kids loved the show. Were there any songs in particular that you were wondering about?

Sensitivity, soft shoes, both Larkin and Harry duets, the swamps of home. I figured most everything else would be there.

Sensitivity, The Swamps of Home, and one of the Larkin/Harry duets is there (forget which one off the top of my head). No Soft Shoes.

No "soft shoes". Well that figures. Any show that can't mention things like a woman having a baby our of wedlock (gasp) certainly isn't about to have a funny dressed guy singing about his "daddy"!

What the hell is Once Upon a Mattress G2K?
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.

G2K means "Getting to Know" which is the R and H version of a Jr. Show.

OH! I was trying to get "2000" (2K) in there somehow.

Except the G2K you is a weak imitiation. The Jr Series is pretty awesome, and provide the students with so much information. (Granted, some titles translate better than others.)

If I remember correctly, the G2K you series is a bit more expensive, AND you have to return all the scripts. (But it's been a good number of years since I've looked at them.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Based on my own experiences with G2K vs. Jr. shows, they're pretty on par. You don't have to return G2K scripts - I think they realize that the students are pretty much an organizational nightmare and to get it back would be an impossible task. The only difference I saw was that G2K gives you only one copy of the music CD while Jr. shows give you two.

I sure as hell hope you don't have to return the scripts...which we are still waiting for the other half to arrive. R and H won't send anything until a certain date...so I just gave what we had in storage and copied the rest.
