I saw After Midnight the other day and really enjoyed it, but I liked the show better last year at City Center as Cotton Club Parade. The lovely huge stage at City Center gave the production room to breathe. The musicians were comfortably arrayed there, and the choreography seemed more beautiful. But the cast made the move to the Brooks Atkinson largely intact, and the demonstration of talent on the stage, both last year and currently, is mind-boggling. I recommend seeing After MIdnight for 90-minutes of escapism in the best sense.

What a lovely show! Carlyle has done a great job here and am looking to him in the future! Fantasia was great, as was Dule,, Plantadit and the rest of the soloists, but most arresting we're Lenox and the wonderful Carmen Ruby Floyd's "Creole Love Call" loved her the most! AND her marvelous hat!

Sondheim was there with the bf...I understand why he didn't say hi... I had better seats!

"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."

AFTER MIDNIGHT Reviews

Tomorrow, Sunday, February 9, is Fantasia's final performance in After Midnight. I just want to say how lucky I feel to have been able to see her in this role. I went in to After Midnight--early in previews--with no expectations for the show, nor for Fantasia. Beyond being absolutely dazzled by the musicianship, energy and artistry of every musician/dancer/singer on that stage and being pleasantly surprised by Carlyle's fluid direction and choreography and the gorgeous work of the production, lighting and costume designers, I was most surprised by Fantasia, a performer I had greatly underestimated. In Fantasia, Warren Carlyle, Jack Viertel and Wynton Marsalis found the perfect star--one with a great affinity for the material and an undeniable raw magnetism. I only wish more star and "stunt" casting was this strong. I hope that she'll one day record an entire album of standards--perhaps with Wynton Marsalis.

I wish KD Lang, Toni Braxton and Babyface all the best on their runs, but I think my heart will always belong to Fantasia.

She's ending her run already? She always said that she would love to extend her engagement, so I'm guessing she will after KD, Toni, and Babyface's run.

Yep. She was always scheduled to end her run February 9th. KD Lang starts Feb. 11th. It would be wonderful to see her return after Toni Braxon and Babyface depart, but I wonder if the producers have a really big name up their sleeves that they're waiting to announce.

I would be great if she returned for the the spring, even for just 2-3 months. Toni Braxton/Babyface end their run March 30.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I loved this show at City Center and on Broadway. But I have to say that the video clip of KD Lang in performance on this site completely killed my desire to go see it again with her. Maybe she's better live than on the video, and maybe she will get better with more performances, but that clip looks godawful.
