will all of these people stay on board for another 3-4 years and wait for it to come to Broadway??
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
On the bright side, it confirms my long-held feeling that Japan (and the Asian market in general, including but not limited to China and South Korea) are starting to be a new breeding ground for live entertainment.
One Broadway producer, Chunsoo Shin, is pretty big in that market. Over here, his choices haven't been so great (The Story of My Life, the 2012 J.C. Superstar, Chaplin, and the most recent Jekyll and Hyde), but back home, he's the Shuberts and Nederlanders rolled into one. Keep an eye on him. I think we'll see big things soon.
