Thanks. It is a great interview - she seems very natural and down-to-earth and yet retains that aura that has probably made the latter part of her career fairly successful.
Aspects of Love is my favorite Lloyd-Webber musical and her reference to why it is particularly "poignant" for her makes me understand why her solo recording of ANYTHING BUT LONELY has great appeal. I only saw Ann Crumb play the part on Broadway ( and London) but I would have wanted to see how Sarah had interpreted the role of Rose Vibert, too.

i'm not a brightman hater -- girlfriend's got some pipes -- but she really hasn't been on broadway enough to qualify as a legend. less than a year in aspects, less than six months in phantom -- that's it. no awards and only one nomination (a drama desk, not a tony).
The journalist calls her a "Broadway Legend",so tell that to him!
Anyone going to see her concert by the way?
I am going to see her on Saturday at the Radio City Music Hall, can't wait.

I wouldn't call her a 'Broadway' star either, but I can I see why others would. People who follow her know she was in Cats (although, I don't think she did it on Broadway) and recorded Reqieum , which held its 1st public performance in NY. Plus, the role of Christine is so iconic having played it in the West End and was part of the transfer to the New York stage. Playing in Aspects of Love was just the icing on the cake. What I found interesting in the interview were her comments on her acting choices while playing Christine. I always thought she was a bad actress solely based on the movements and facial expressions as seen on the Phantom videos when actually she was mimicking expressions and mannerisms she thought women of that time adopted based on photographs she was researching. I don't think it translated well to film. She just looked 'special'. Did anyone see her in the role? Did it work well for the stage? If not, Hal Prince should have redirected her.

I wonder if she would consider returning to acting either in a play or a musical, I think she has mentioned in past interviews, it would have to be the right script and role.
