I disagree. It's actually my favorite Shaiman/Wittman score so far. I hated Hairspray, Catch Me if You Can was better and this is a lot of fun. I agree with one of the critics who said nothing in their score is better than "Pure Imagination," but how could anything be better than that? To me, it's one of the best songs ever written and I like that they didn't try to better it and instead just used it as the cherry on top of their new score. It's lovely.
One of the worst shows I have ever seen, everything about it awful, a score that could send you to sleep.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

I had quite a good time watching the show, but it's my favourite Roald Dahl story so I would always enjoy it. That being said, the score is definitely the weakest part of the show - the only songs I really liked were If Your Mother Were Here, It Must Be Believed To be Seen and Pure Imagination (which of course isn't a Shaiman/Wittman song).
I actually saw Hairspray on tour the week after - which has a much much better score IMO and remains Shaiman's and Wittman's best so far.
I'm looking forward to hearing this! I love the Hairspray score! It's one of two shows (the other being Ragtime) in which I love every single song in the show.
I listened to this last night, and agree that it was really atrocious. You would think a score for Charlie and the Chocolate factory by that team would be, ya know...fun. But it's not. It just sits there, really tuneslessly.
