It's a dangerous business. We can't ever forget that.

Close the show down? That's silly.

Unless anyone can prove that there is disregard for the safety of all involved, accidents WILL happen. For all we know this is another example of the actor being at fault -- WE don't know. People get hurt at LOTS of jobs -- with a known danger quotient or not, bus drivers, construction workers, miners, so many things.

Does anyone have any info or update on the status of Mr. Curry's injury, beyond just the vague press release regarding "an injury to his foot"????
As an Equity member, I am preparing to write to Nick Wyman, and I was just wondering if anyone here has heard any update. Everything that has been released is some very vague press rep talk.

If his update hasn't been made public, it's private and anyone that might have information would be violating his privacy if they posted it.

I'm stating my opinions on this and a plethora of other tragic accidents - human error is more and more evident in so many things that have happened that have injured and killed people. For instance, just consider how many accidents have been caused by people who are busy on their phones. Don't start me.

I hope this doesn't turn out to be human error. I hope it was an equipment malfunction (not that I'm happy this happened at all), and I hope Mr. Curry recovers fully.

A beautifully written and deeply felt column from the Huff Post yesterday by the mother of a 9-year-old who was at the show when Daniel Curry was injured.

Of all the things that have been written about this injury (and the previous ones), this is, hands-down, the best: a meditation on life, childhood, parenting and theater.

Please read it before posting in this thread again.

Thank you for sharing the article paljoey.

I know that he won't lose his foot, but I'm really hoping he'll fully recover. It would be awful if this injury ended his career...
