Lately I've noticed that I like the changes in a show's ad tagline and slogans better than I like the original. For example:
Cinderella's original= "Glass slippers are so back" new tag= "Discover what really happened between rags and riches"
After Midnight's original: "It's a state of mind" new tag= "Harlem's hottest club. Broadway's hottest night."
Are there any tag lines you prefer over the one originally used by a show? Nerdy question, I know. But since marketing interests me, I wonder about these things.
I can't remember if this is the exact wording, but when Miss Saigon was closing the ads said "Get your tickets today before you miss Saigon." I thought that was really cheeky.
I don't remember what the tag line was while the show was at The Public, but I LOVED the new one for Broadway for Bloody, Bloody, Andrew Jackson: History Just Got All Sexypants
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
