Ooooh! If Ian McShane were the Wizard, that role might actually have the punch I felt it needs instead of this bizarre sad clown vaudeville thing. I feel like there could be something miraculous done with that subtext, but it's never allowed to truly blossom as this has become a theme park family show.

Maybe there should be a one night only "(Really) Wicked" performance where the performers actually do get intense, menacing, and really mean! I'm talking full-on Actor's Studio line readings!!!
