I know that tickets purchased at the box office, by phone, and online are eligible for audience rewards points.
What about rush tickets? Can you get points when you buy a rush ticket?

Only tickets purchased online or by phone are eligible. Therefore, rush tickets do not apply.

I second Cupid Boy2 - you can't get points by buying at the box office. You only earn points by buying them or buying online or by phone. You can only redeem by buying online or by phone.

They only reward you for paying full price when you buy through the AR site online or on the phone. The rewards can be quite generous for pre-sales and sometimes after opening - Matilda and Pippin were two examples, but Pippin got even better and doubled their original reward once the show started previews. Redeeming points and cash through AR in advance pulls the price of the tickets down to what you would pay at rush anyway, and the seats are in better locations. Well, save for when you get front row on rush, but if you can't stand in line for hours, AR is a great resources.

Rainbowhigh23 - you can earn points when buying with discounts online. You just put in your Audience Rewards account number and you earn 2 points per dollar spent, I believe. So, if you buy a discount ticket online for $75, you get 150 points. Both Ticketmaster and Telecharge will let you give your account number to earn points.

^ Oh, I didn't know that! I like getting those giant bonuses so I always go through the AR site, but if a show isn't offering a bonus you can still earn. That's great!

Bring back this old thread because maybe this has changed? I was thinking of rushing Beetlejuice and it does mention the Winter Garden is available for ShowPoints. I also looked to see if rushing counts as an unauthorized ticket purchasing method, but it seems like mostly TKTS and discounting channels are the closest to that. Would rushing a show work for earning points? Has anyone tried it?

Also he's the terms and conditions, in case I missed anything: https://www.audiencerewards.com/termsandconditions#earning-exclusions

Yes, you can get AR points at the box office at participating theatres for your RUSH tickets.  I got my points when I rushed these shows last month:

The Cher Show, Hillary & Clinton, Beetlejuice, To Kill A Mockingbird, Be More Chill, Network, and Oklahoma.

You can always contact AR to get back credit for shows you saw.   When I purchased my RUSH tickets, I gave them the number at the box office.

I’ve gotten points from box office/rush tickets before but not everytime. For example I’ve never gotten Waitress to give me points from the box office.

If it’s a box office that uses Telecharge, you can get points after the fact — but not with Ticketmaster. At least that’s what the AR rep told me once — and it seems to be the case with what I’ve experienced.

If you look at the list of theatres that allow AR, the Brooks Atkinsons is not on there. Since the Winter Garden is listed then it shouldn't be a problem
