The show was ok, there were some more gripping scenes than others however Fiona Shaw made the show something special, you couldn't hear a pin drop in the theatre for the whole 90 minutes.
I didn't know where else to put this, but I saw it today at the ACT-SF under the new name of Testament and thought that it was well-written and extremely well acted (with a layered and complex performance by Seana McKenna), but it was also not so engaging and a huge downer. I liked the portrait of grief that the play painted, and though I am a decently devout Catholic, I didn't take much issue in the way that they altered the Bible because it gave Jesus and Mary a new human light. It's worth a look if you're interested and features some great acting, but it's not riveting or compelling drama. The set was also notably ugly, with weird triangle pieces of plastic scattered about, but it wasn't so bad of an issue.
