I would've thought that with the Beyonce lip syncing controversy, perhaps they wouldn't have wanted to have it lip-synced, but I guess I was wrong. The dead give-away at 1:52 when she closes her mouth but the audio still holds out "that". She did, however, dance the number very well, at 43 years old! Her dancing I guess makes up for her lip-syncing. Thoughts?
And 72 year old Shirley Bassey and 70 year old Barbra Striesand and 75 year old Jane Fonda were incredible. I will give you the point that none of the above did a "Fosse Dance" on stage. :)
Thought so. I think her singing was unfairly criticized during NIGHT MUSIC. The part didn't have much singing, and she was sick towards the end of the run. Hopefully she has stopped smoking.
It wasn't her voice that was the problem on the Tonys. It was acting. She played "Send in the Clowns" like a scene from The Last Exorcism. After all, pretty much anyone can sing "Send in the Clowns".
Am I the only one who is bugged by the fact that the past tense of lip-synch is lip-synched? Why isn't it lip-sanch?
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

A poster in another thread says that she sang the first bit of the song live, then started lip-synching once she got off the piano and started dancing. This makes sense to me, as I didn't start thinking she was lip-synching until halfway through.

Wow! She's 43 and can still dance? You sh**ting me?!
Come on, kids. 43 today is like 23, seriously.
Chita Rivera was an old bag at 65 when she danced in KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN. Look at this clip for yourselves and see what a 65 year old dancer can do and you'll see that Zeta-Jones at 43 isn't any impressive revelation:
