Let me start by saying I did a search about my query but perhaps I am searching using the wrong criteria/wording.

Which Broadway houses are considered to be "dead houses?" By that I mean which ones have atrocious acoustics, the sound doesn't carry or resonate, and are just plain s**t?

On the contrary, which are the best?

Again, if I missed/overlooked an already existing similar thread I apologize.

The "deadest" acoustic on Broadway is definitely the Marquis Theatre. It is almost always necessary to add some sort of reverb-based electronic surround enhancement in there in order to liven the room back up. It can be a curse because the audiences own responses laughing and clapping are knocked down so it feels like things aren't even landing from the stage. On the other hand, it can be nice to achieve total control of the acoustic given enough money and time to do some effective enhancement. Amplified shows are easier to achieve there than old-school acoustic shows.

Worst: Every Bway theatre built after 1970.
Best: Belasco, Music Box.
