Had tickets to The Heiress on closing night (Feb. 10), but just got an email from Telecharge stating that the performance is canceled. Any one know why??

Jessica Chastain is probably taking a red-eye to London following the Saturday evening performance. The BAFTAs are Sunday evening 2/10.

I'm guessing it's the BAFTAS too. She's on a roll this award season and that's a biggie.

Dan Stevens will probably be on that plane with her. He wants the hell out.

She heard Betty Buckley can't hack it in Dear World and they may need a star replacement.

This is not surprising to me whatsoever. She has been campaigning her ass off this awards season, and if she does win, it would be the last stop before an Oscar win.

They've also bumped up the Saturday evening (and now, final) performance to 7pm so Chastain can get to the airport in time.

The last commercial red eye out of JFK to London departs at 10:30 p.m., so my guess is Sony Pictures (which owns Columbia, the film's distributor) is flying her to London on one of their corporate jets. With flight time and time difference she will land in London appx. 12 hours after departure from NYC.

I think the very funny reference to Dan Stevens is parodying his decision not to continue with DOWNTON ABBEY beyond this season. I like his work very much and thought he did a respectable if not brilliant job in THE HEIRESS. I hope he has something wonderful to move on to.

I'm not surprised they rescheduled the final performance. The lead producer is Paula Wagner who is a BIG TIME film producer and probably wants to keep Jessica Chastain in her good graces for any future film roles. Her producing partner is Tom Cruise so I think we can expect a future film starring Cruise and Chastain.

Cruise and Chastain - please, no. He needs her more than she needs him at this point, with the bomb of JACK REACHER (or whatever it was called) fresh in everyone's mind.

She's going to win the Oscar for a (to my thinking) one-note performance (Javert as protagonist) in a film in which the best female performance is actually Jennifer Ehle, in a brilliant, unrecognized "supporting" turn. Ehle's exit from the film leaves an emotional hole. Early. I like Chastain, a lot, but ZERO DARK THIRTY is hardly a great showcase for what she offers. I think her recognition for this film is odd.

Wesley Morris said it best that Chastain embodies the "mono-mania" of the film. You play somebody dedicated to one thing with limited characterization beyond that obsession. The script asked for that and I thought it was delivered. Plus it appears Maya was based on a real person and judging from the Washington Post article on the unnamed CIA woman, it seems to be an accurate depiction of her work life.

There is also the fact Chastain has emerged out of nowhere the last 2 years and is a nice story while the category itself is not very strong. Also the fact the character is a pretty rare non-sexualized woman in a male-dominated setting. I want to avoid the 'strong female character' description since I also think the character is flawed (not in terms of writng or acting but just as a person which actually made me respect the film more) but of the varied reads of the film that has come up a lot.

Jason Clarke, Ehle, Greig Fraser's cinematography, Desplat's score, the production design team that recreated the compound that went unnoticed by everybody, and obviously Bigelow should have been nominated. Those works and performances gaining no traction is partly a mystery that is so typical in awards season while other 'snubs' clearly were victims of the whispering campaign against the film. Chastain and the editing of the film probably have the strongest chance to take home awards Oscar night.

I totally concur that Ehle created an amazingly strong and touching character in an otherwise by-the-book piece of film making.
