At first I thought this was a joke. Their doing this in the first place took guts, but actually watching the video and then deciding to post it on youtube for the world to see? That is one extreme act of bravery.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

This is why people hate musical theater and why I hate sitting in line at Shakespeare in the Park.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Enjolras is earsplitting and nobody's in sync and the Thenardiers don't know their lyrics, but I didn't think it was the awful.

I know you. I know you. I know you.

The clip is listed in the category of comedy.

Except that there's nothing the slightest bit comic about it.

The most joyous flash-mob was the Russian Puttin' on the Ritz.

One of the comments states they only rehearsed an hour. They needed more. Lots more.

And really? They couldn't find MEN for Enjolras and Javert. Looked like they were the SciFi Club.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Actually After Eight, it's hilarious. It's so bad that it's good. How embarrassing for all those involved.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I think it's funny that there are more people in the flashmob than there are people paying attention to the flashmob. Agree...this is why people hate musical theatre.

Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.

No worse than the movie's version.

I'm tired of flash mobs. I think they've run their course.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Yikes. I like the lesbian Javert. That was a cacophony of sounds-none of them good.
