Help Choosing 1 New Musical this Spring#1
Posted: 1/13/13 at 9:46pm
My NYC time might be more limited this year than in years past, but I'm coming for one weekend at the end of April. If you had to choose one MUSICAL opening this spring to see, which would you choose? I'm considering Matilda, Kinky Boots, and Cinderella. Would you buy tickets in advance or wait for discounts or TKTS? Thanks for your help in advance.

I would definitely see Matilda! I've heard nothing but great things about it. While I could be wrong, I would buy tickets in advance because I think it'll be a hot ticket.

Matilda.
In advance.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I'd also say Matilda, Cinderella would be my second choice.

Matilda for sure. I would buy in advance, because TKTS doesn't have every show every day. You may not get tickets if you rely on that.

Saw Matilda in Oct, it's a great show. Is this your only trip this year? Sadly, in the current Broadway quick-trigger environment I sometimes choose to see shows that interest me but may not have staying power over those that will be there next time I get to NYC (I live in San Diego so it's not like it's convenient). Matilda will be around for a while. I'm not so confident the other two will...
