Hey, has anyone rushed Cat or tried to get SRO for Glengarry recently? I know both are sold 2 hours prior to the performance, but I'm wondering how early I should get there for a weekend matinee of either.
I did SRO for GG/GR on the 5th. Got to the theatre just before 5. I was the 6th in line (I believe everyone ahead of me got 2 tkts). At 5pm the line got longer quicker. The good thing was that they allowed us to stand in the lobby and not outside! The began selling right at 6 for the 8pm curtain.
Literally just rushed Cat, as in I'm eating dinner during the 2 hours between rush and the show!! Saw the matinee of Drood and got to the Rodgers box office around 5:10. I was 4th on line. No one came until about 5:30, but then it started to fill up quickly. No idea how many people got tickets, but I'd say a half hour before to be safe. I got orchestra row D seat 21. The best part of this was that they let us have the rush line inside due to the cold weather!! Hope this helps!
Oh! And I should add that there were two empty rows in center Orch. A few standees tried to move after the 1st scene and the ushers made them get back up. But at intermission, all the standees took those seats without any interference from ushers and we all enjoyed some really great seats! So if you see a free seat, hold out til intermission. Its a short 1st act.
How is the view from the front orchestra in Cat? Is the stage high? Does the bed frame obstruct the sightlines? Do you think the front row would be okay?
