So the flying monkeys are two "types," like Gremlins?
(I haven't read the screenplay, which I'm trying to avoid so I can see the movie fresh.)
In this poster, there's a "warm and fuzzy" hotel bellhop monkey, and a goth warrior vampire monkey.
As for the teapots and china doll, they are from the China Country, which was actually in the first book (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz) by L. Frank Baum. It wasn't included in the MGM movie, but it's part of the original story.

To quote Besty, "As for the teapots and china doll, they are from the China Country, which was actually in the first book (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz) by L. Frank Baum. It wasn't included in the MGM movie, but it's part of the original story."
The MGM story waters down Dorothy's travels through OZ. I remember China Country being pretty scary as a kid, but I haven't read it in probably 15 years.
