I'd actually like Mickey as Papa! That would be a fun bit of casting.

Can we get some past Roses as the strippers? Bernadette, Patti, and Tyne perhaps? Or if they wanted to be ghoulish, they could ask Angela to play one. Maybe she can be Mrs. Cratchitt?

Babs looks good. Actually, she looks pretty stunning for 70, but I mean, really - this is just a weird idea. If it was 20 years ago, it would have been a great idea, but now, it's just gonna seem kinda sad and desperate. Still, we all know this is gonna happen. If Babs wants to do something, she's gonna do it. I'm gonna go order my tickets, buy some popcorn, and wait for the trainwreck.

Never been a huge Babs fan, but I'm eager for this to happen. I think she'll be good, and it would be wonderful to finally get a great production of this classic on film.

The age thing doesn't bother me, and I doubt will be a problem for most viewers.

Like clockwork - does anyone actually READ the articles? They are all the same. They started with it being Barbra's project that she wanted to do. Of course, anyone can want to do anything but that doesn't mean it's happening. And just to show how far its devolved into Fantasyland from there, now it's Joel Silver's project and he's "wooing" Barbra to star and she won't commit yet. And here's everyone acting like this has some basis in reality.

No, deal, no script, no nothing. What does that equal, I wonder?

The role of young Gypsy Rose Lee will be the hottest ticket in Hollywood. This should be fun to see who gets the nod. Lea's television "stardom" might hurt her chances. Will it go to an established movie ingenue or singing star? As for extra vaseline or gauze, that's old hat for Miss S. I'm sure she will employ all of the current digital tricks at her disposal.

The thought of this actually maybe possibly happening is enough for me Streisand Gypsy is still on....

As big a fan of BOTH Babs and the musical as I am, perhaps what might work best would be to double cast it... work with it as a flashback... Babs being Rose in her twilight years?
